Units - Increase file
Increase file. How do you set/control this limitation? With my current 480 men per unit this is very limited. I cannot stretch one unit to only 4 men deep. It is limited to 6. What controls this and how do I change it? My units of 240 skirmishers in DEI are in one big block. I really need to stretch these to only 4 or lines but I am prevented from doing so. Any ideas where this is set so I can play around with it?
TIA!

Re: Units - Increase file
Hey, each unit has a minimum depth depending on the spacing (found in the unit spacing table). This is normally set to roughly 1 meter horizontally and vertically, which allows for roughly three ranks minimum. Playing with the spacing could change this, but you probably don't want to put the soldiers too close together. In the land units table, you can set the default depth, which is the amount of ranks a unit begins with in battle. It has a limit though. A 240 man unit should be able to be strecthed into, or starting with, 4 ranks, but no less. If the spacing is too great, the minimum may go higher than that, turning the unit into more of a block at best. Good luck!

Re: Units - Increase file
This may suggest that the units have a max area that they can occupy? So 120 skirmishers can be stretched out to a wider and thiner line, but not 240 skirmishers. I wonder what sets this max area? And is it hard coded because of pathfinding and collision detection issues?
