Default Can't Find Kingdoms.exe at all

    Hello

I am currently frustrated with my process in installing mods to my M2:TW, as even the universal batch file that a moderator recommended wasn't able to find Kingdoms.exe (which I made by copying the Medieval2.exe) in the main folder.

    Here are my specs:
    Steam
    Steam version of Kingdoms
    Windows 7

I've tried everything from the DST trick to the batch file to renaming a mod and inserting the new mod's files into the old one. Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong? Thank you

Copying the medieval2.exe and renaming the copy to Kingdoms should work. This would allow you to start up the mods from their own shortcut. At least, it does for me.

THANKS!! I downloaded Hispania in the Middle Ages mod from frontpage some days ago, and couldn't get it to work because of the "couldn't find kingdoms.exe"

    Your workaround was perfect.

It just says "Unable to locate Kingdoms.exe. Run launcher again for a new browse dialog." This happens every time.

Again, did you try renaming the "medieval2.exe" application to "kingdoms.exe"? If that doesn't work, rename it to simply "kingdoms".

Yes, and it just loads the vanilla game. At least we're getting somewhere.

Did you get stainless steel to work, or still need help?

if you still need help, answer me a couple of questions:

Where is your steam folder (steamapps in particular) located, is it within program files?

Are you an administrator/main account on your computer?

Unfortunately I'm technically inept so I can't really help you. Is this problem just for Stainless Steel or for all mods? I think SS automatically detects wether you have Steam or not so there might be a problem there, although I find that highly unlikely as it works just fine for me.

Have you tried running the launcher as administrator? It works for me, also win 7

Do you mean using the install launcher with run as administrator, or using the launcher to run the game as administrator or both?

    Hello all,

This is my first post so I'm truly sorry if I'm in the wrong place.

    Downloaded 6.3 and 6.4

clicked run and it says "unable to locate kingdoms.exe, Is Kingdoms.exe in your MTW2 folder?"

I've played third age before. So I copy/pasted SS data into the "Americas" expansion.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Go to MTW2/Mods/SS6.3, locate SS Set Up, select, right click and Run As Admin
