Generals Speeches are in

THERE ARE SPEECHES...Just wait until the camera zooms in 2 the General and there U go....at least in the German version. One of them was cursing, bragging & even aking who drank all his beer

So it seems you just need to wait for the camera to zoom in to your general before the speech starts.

Interesting....I wonder if you can arrange your forces while the gen's talking?

Good that they've included the speeches after all.

No you can't, he talks before you press "start deployment". As Lusted says, the camera moves for a few seconds, then goes to your general who when speaks. Haven't had that many battles yet, and impatient as I am, I haven't heard a full speech yet. Have to do that when (hopefully) taking Jerusalem tonight.

Just played a custom battle and confirmed it myself. Speeches are better than Rtw's, even mentioning info about the enemies forces and what troops are good against them.

Did they? All i remember of RTW speeches was the general making a speech based on what traits he had and who he was facing, the you just had units taunting the enemy.

if you extract the sounds from the files you can listen to all the generals speeches an there loads related to units and terrain such as hills that for some reason are never in game. i don't know why they wernt included. there also some advisor talk you never hear like peasants being useless.

It seems like they (CA) has corrected almost all of the issues plaguing RTW that I've had and heard discussed online. If they take the time to improve something as minor as the speeches, it really goes a long way to reassure me that this game will be the best ever. Not just PC strategy type games but perhaps the best game out right now and for the foreseeable future. Must upgrade comp ASAP, people that already have it are stoking my anticipation with their positive comments. Plus this is before they releasd a patch even, how much better will it be with those tweaks that will be made by the patches?

Another cool thing is that after a victory all your men start jumping about and cheering the general. Really cool.

How can I hear the parts of the tales in RTW without playing the game?

I know it is a text-file where all that is being said is wroten down, but I want to hear it.

I can hear the speech, but it's always just a sentence or two!? :hmmm: That's with the German version, just in case that it matters.

I think I have to wait a ong time before the speech.
I played the game for like 2 hours now as French (including a large battle against Milan) and didnt heared 1 speech.
Guess I have to wait a little longer
