Default Civil War caused invisible agent

So finally in my Suebi campaign, I was stricken with the inevitable civil war. Luckily I used only Elder Chiefs to command my troops and left the Other Chiefs as governors. I'm able to quickly take back my settlements as it's mostly only garrison forces against my 20 stack armies, but I ran in to a problem.

My best army, accompanied by my best champion, seems to be glitched. The champion which I was using to train my troops has disappeared from the unit list, but there is still has the icon above the army saying it's there. Now what else is weird, is that my army has been getting attacked by a champion every few turns, halting it's movement.. but there's no champion in sight. So I'm guessing it's the "invisible" champion that I once had who from what I assume, defected to the other side.

I thought I would be able to just replace my former champion with another, but it says only one agent can accompany an army at a time. So I'm stuck with a level 10 champion ravaging my best army with "assault patrol" every few turns, completely stopping it from moving.

I will post the save so people can take a look at it. The army with the problem is "Gerulf's Berserkers" right next to the Roman border in Italy.

A solution ( undesired yes...) is to disband that army, completely..
The general will return to Capital and perhaps the agent will go "puff" as well...
As it should if a single General is disbanded.
And reinstate legacy next turn with desired General ( the one you just disbanded for instance) , recruit a new agent (champion ?) and ad it to that army.
the moment you crash the opponents in CW, any agents the rebellion have will disappear any way...

ps: are you using other mods ?

No, DEI is the only mod installed. I'd really rather not disband the whole army as it is currently the strongest one I have and it's units are leveled up quite a bit. The agent that I assume defected and is causing the problem was very old. A level 10 champion I've had since near the beginning. I believe she was in her early sixties. Do you think it's possible that she could die from old age and then no longer be a problem to my army? Or has she become an invulnerable ghost forever haunting my army?

if it is a bug anything is possible , although she might die eventually...
if she lives for another 20 turns an is f.ing up non stop , better to disband that army (my opinion) and reinstate it with new troops.

the turns without 20 units will boost you cash, and levelling up while a challenge can be done quite quickly imho

    my advice:

have armies with only 10 elite units (less upkeep) and recruit the rest units only when in dire need.
if attacking or attacked by enemy just before, recruit mercenaries, win, then disband mercenaries, thus no upkeep, while your core elite levels up...
    an idea....
what meerkatology said is very sound !!!
    follow his advice !

    happened to me also.

you can transfer troops to another general, put new agent in that stack. disband ur old general with the attached bugged agent. then rehire him afterwards. you'll lose the agent but at least you can still put new agent to that army.

Did this happen to you after a Civil War also, or was it under different circumstances?

Ironically, after disbanding the general the defected champion was attached to, I was able to use my spy to re-defect her back to my side. So now she's training my army once again. Funny the way things work out.

I had this problem once as well - also with Suebi.
The champion attacked the army from the inside for a few turns^^ but after some time he went out of the army by his own.
