    Default Changing Time Scale

When I set the time scale from 2.00 to 0.5, I get two turns per year! Characters age by one year every two turns (just as in RTW). But does anyone know if that affects the total number of turns? Or does it have any side effects? And is the actual game date displayed somewhere?

I just got the game two hours ago, but instead of playing it I'm only fiddling with the files! Unlock factions and stuff like that. Weird!

If you remove the show_date_as_turns line it will show the date, and the game will run for however many tunrs there are between 1080 and 1530 at the timescale you specified.

Lusted are you saying that you can play the game at RTW campaign speed, with no side effects, other than events will be further apart (obviously)?

Yup, as the events are based on the year not the turn. Of course you will get all the buildings earlier which would make things easier.

I've tried it, and it works like a charm! But the building and recruiting times are an issue, even though this is not much different from RTW anyway, now. 900 turns.....oh my!

Excuse my ignorance but does that mean that the untweaked version will be a max of 450 turns? Seems more than enough for me as I cannot imagine ever getting to the end of a campaign of 900 turns.

The next edition of TW would be out before you finished a campaign of that length.

Less. 225 turns. That's 2 years per turn.

By switching to two turns per year the number of turns is 4x225. It's also possible to play with 1 turn = 1 year (450 turns), though.

Would it really make things easier?

The other factions would get building earlier too, surly.
    Thus equaling out the advantage.
