    Default Pesky french...

Anyone else having problems with them to? I can hold them off but i cant really put up an offensive towards them. And i played against them as the germans and the english.

And i cant really rely on my billman alone anymore because they dont rape infantry like in MTW they are outmatche by those "spearmen sergeants"(dont really know what they are called but they wear chainmail)

    I play ok h/vh btw.

You playing on vh battle difficulty? No wonder your finding it tough, the ai is very good on it. I find that the French are more liable to have generals/provinces revolt, so send in some spys/assassins/priests to stir things up.

hey lusted does it appear to you that the AI get morale/attack bonuses and cheats like in RTW or do you think its just a roper AI increase?

Do the AI get unit bonuses on Very Hard or are they just better?

Just better. Both the AI and the human get fatigue handicaps etc, but the AI is also improved. No artificial bonuses.

Lusted, are you seeing the AI charge its units into battle as we saw in Rome, or does it walk them?

    Sounds good to me.

It charges them Germanicus, and co-ordinates them very well.

Thanks, Lusted. OK, maybe I need to make my q clearer - is it charging them right the start of the battle towards your army (as in Rome) or is it walking them until it gets to fighting distance, and then charging? (Major difference).
    Thanks.

hey Lusted you said that the AI actually gets better/smarter when you increase the difficulty? This means not that it gets moral/attack bonuses but instead reacts and coordinates more cunningly?

I hope this is the case since on vh/vh RTW was still a joke to a good player. I was planning on playing on vh/h but might play on vh/vh if the AI is actually better instead of just having bigger and bigger bonuses.

Exactly, the ai does not get bonuses, it gets smarter, reacts faster, co-ordinates better etc. Be warned though, vh is very tough.

My game just came through the post!

I love smelling the newness of the game manual. Right, let's see what those Australians have done for this beloved franchise.

I hope the days of RTW are over anyway and we can revert to the good old atmosphere of Shogun and Medieval.

Hi Lusted, can I ask about the rebels' voices? Do they all sound the same in the same way as all barbs in Rome sounded the same, and all civilized factions in Rome spoke in a similar way?
Besides, have you noticed any differences in how the Catholic factions speak, for example, aside from differences in accent?
    Thanks.
