Some queries
Friends, DEI Team, Modders, lend me your eyes, and 5 mins, please. =o} Read the questions below and see if you can answer some of them. There are just a few queries I have and I would like know what the real reply is or general wisdom.. TIA!
1. Roman Legionaries - Is the Phalanx (Shield Wall) actually any good? How much does it raise defense and lower attack? Weakness against arrows?
2. Cavalry charges - in wedge or line? Which is actually better? I remember this back in Napoleon, and probably back even further. So what is the real outcome? Has anybody actually tested it? The question is; to charge in wedge or line formation?
3. Specific attack order or not? When a unit walks forward and bumps into an enemy unit, if you have not specifically commanded the unit to engage the enemy, what happens next? Will they simply engage? Will my unit suffer any game negatives because it was not specifically told to engage? And with shield wall engaged?
4. What sets the max units in an army the AI will recruit? I set the max number to 80 but the AI only recruits stacks of 41 or less. How do I change this?
5. Reinforcements; how is this controlled in the tables or is this hard coded? If I set max army of 80 units I do not receive any reinforcements.
Looking forward to reading your replies. Thank you!

Re: Some queries
3. For hoplites, you'll need a specific attack order because of the way the formation works (and you should always use them in formation). They won't fight as effectively if you don't use one. Also for all units, you won't get the charge bonus if you just walk into the enemy.
