    Default No second Greek reform

I changed the Greek Thorax reform to appear at 120 turns and imperium level IV (instead of 140 and V). I'm at level IV and after even turn 140 now and nothing had happened. The lua.script is in my personal pack that loads first and no other mod changes the lua.scripts or other scripts. Are there other things to do? I can see no tech that's connected to the reforms except the 1-turn unit improvement tech I researched time ago. Are there other files except the reform.lua that rule the reform timing?

What about the global reforms, have you changed them aswell?
I know that there has been problems with the player reforms not triggering if the AI got the reforms first.

I would like to see this changed, if you play as a small Greek faction and can't get your imperium high enough before the reforms you are penalized?
Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.

This has been changed multiple times. Dresden has made a fix to this.

For me it didn't even trigger for the AI (or at least I didn't get the message) and I'm waaay past the global reform turn.

The idea I tried to implement with 1.0 was to not allow the AI reform, if the player has not reached it already. It seems like it does not work as I expected.

I had changed the global reforms to 120 turns together with the player reforms before the start of my actual campaign. Recently at turn 188 I changed the turn number to 190 but nothing happened at turn 190. Maybe you cannot change the script during a campaign? Strangely I can recruit Athenian thorax hoplites who seem not be connected with the Thorax refom and can replace my hoplites with Thorax hoplites because of the upgrade tech. But the other thorax reform units are not recruitable.

Then you might have a mod conflict that messes up the scripts?

It still does not work, flash:

If I remain a small imperium faction due to the difficulty level I like to play on, I still cannot recruit the next upgrade after Greek choppers or upgrade the Greek choppers that I currently possess. I have talked about this ad nauseam on multiple threads. And yes I have used the fix for this in the other thread. All that does is allow me to recruit Greek choppers still with the reform already in the past. But I still cannot upgrade them; Basing unit upgrades on imperium is a hindrance for those starting with smaller factions who like to turtle some. It says "if you don't expand, were going to penalize you" not something I like very much.

I understand what you mean, but I think it makes sense for the reforms to occurr as your empire grows, the transition from citizen army to professonal army.

Maybe someone could make a submod that gives you the reforms when you research the special faction research (the purple one). That way you could institute reforms whenever you wanted to.

I might not mind that so much, but what gets me is ever time I reload my campaign back from a save game I can upgrade units for one turn only. Something is not working right in the scripts.

If you are playing as say Syracuse, you will almost never be able to expand enough before those reforms come and go. If you get into a war with Carthage early you are done on hard difficulty. I like that difficulty, but it's not conducive to a player who wants to use the full extent of the faction rosters. From what I have gleaned, most players in this forum play with Rome or bigger factions that don't have that limitation; so naturally, less is said about it.

    .
Its not just a greek reform thing, it happens on the Romans as well.

Reforms work perfectly, then save the game, then reload the game & reforms are messed up.

That's true. If you beat carthage and or rome with Syracuse before the reforms you'll probably never get to see the full roster. I dunno, maybe it could be different for different factions? Or even maybe once the reform starts somewhere in the Hellenistic world it could start spreading to the others?

And you can all be sure that Litharion is working on how to solve this scripting problem

I havent had any reform problems apart from a few teasers in the recruitment menu. I've only reached full reforms with the Seleucids and with Rome but on both I played an expansive campaign.

I think I'm experiencing something similar. I'm playing as massila. I can build units post reform 1, thorax hoplitai,I think they are called.

I get drawn into a war with rome who btw kick my arse with Marian legionnaires. l lose half my army from a skirmish, return to massila to lick my wounds.

I noticed a number of units greyed out specifically, thorax pikeman. After another battle I lose my main and second army and had to reload from earlier save. Post reload, I can't see the greyed out units. Very strange. Is this a fault of mine?

Ps: 1.0 is bloody great especially fighting against rome!! Truely they are bloody hard to defeat!!

So it is only the greyed out units that seem to disappear? You are still able to recruit all other units as you should? Greyed out units usually require a higher reform. You will at certain times be able to see all units in the recruitment options also those for the higher reforms.
