Game Crashes at Custom Battle Screen and when huge fights occur in the Campaign

When I started Third Age Total War, what attracted me the most was the Custom Battles, unfortunately though every time I click on the Custom Battle tab my game crashes. Also to make things worse, my game crashes whenever a huge charge happens, so unfortunately I am stuck. If anyone could help me, please do so.

1) Are you playing some submod for TATW, or it is a vanilla TATW 3.2 with no submods installed?

2) When does the crash happen in your Custom Battles: when trying to start Custom Battle from the main menu with Campaign, Historical Battles etc.. , or, after setting your custom battle and trying to start the battle?

3) In your campaign, can you play any battle on the battlefield?

4) Have you tried with Normal Unit Size setting? Since M2TW is an old game, some users have problems even on high end computers or laptops.

5) Is your M2TW a Steam or non Steam version, and what Windows do you have?
