    Default Celtic Shortswords with deadliness

I saw something while playing a new file with 1.02a plus the 1.03b fix pack that caught my attention. While getting into wars with liguria, insubres, nori, etc, I noticed their basic "celtic shortsword unit" had a deadliness of plus 1 on the campaign, and as well as in battle.

I don't recall them having and deadliness in 1.0, or 1.02a.

Was I just not paying attention and they've had that since 1.0, or was that just added without a specific note?

They have it since 1.0 as far as I remember because they use the same galdius as princeps in the db as I recall . But don't worry: "normal" celtic inf with celtic longswords are deadlier and more dangerous then the shortswordmen. only the roman units who are using them are a "real" thread

Oh I don't have any problem with them difficulty wise, their other stats don't let them last long enough to let the deadliness come into effect.

I just couldn't remember if they had it before or not.

    Getting old is hell...

    Thanks for the quick answer.

Galatian shortswordsmen have it as intended for the reason they were good against phalanx units. Their overal stats are not that great, but deadliness might help them stand out a bit in fights with pikes

Just tested your thesis multiple times in all kind of differnt scenarios.. and the result is: the celtic short sword unit is less effective against any kind of unit (also phalanxes) than "normal" celtic sword units (caturios calgo). Both have very similar cost, however the normal swords seem to be supreme. therfore there is no reason to recrute them if you have the ability to recruit the normal ones So if you want them to do what you suhhested, then you need to implement a new mechanic/change some stats

just a little details to my tests: i tested the galatian shortswords and the galatian caturios calgo vs getea heavy pike infantry as general. I tested frontal attacks with formation on and of, with different amount of ranks and with shild wall on and off. I also tested flanking and rear charge in the same way. In all scenarios the short sword was 3-4 times worse then the normal sword unit. I tested on normal battle diffuculty and no general abilities.

I hope that this helps a bit
