The advisor is gone

So, after some good two years without playing, I installed Medieval II (with Kingdoms) this week again on my computer. But, when I actually play the battles and the campaign (I'm using Stainless Steel 6.4, but it's the same on vanilla), that little guy/gurl that used to appear and give some tips and stuff is simply gone. It's not the case of it being turned off, because I put the advice level on "high", and even when I ask for it (like clicking on the "help" button) it doesn't work. I know that for some of you this might seem crazy, but I actually miss the fella and want it to appear again, since I've spent that much time without playing the game (I put my old saves in it again, so I don't want to up all the good work I did in that campaign).

So, what is the problem, and how do I fix it?

In Stainless Steel there is no advisor.This is not a problem,it should be like this.

But I recall having one the last time I played. Unless I'm delusional or something.

It's possible it could have been taken out in a later revision, I'm not sure.

Did you check wether the advisor is actually activated? The box might be unchecked.
