Total War: ATTILA - Black Horse Trailer

Hey all,

Our new cinematic trailer for Total War: ATTILA tells the story of the struggle with FAMINE. As long, bitter winters set in across Europe and crops wither in the field, the Gothic people find themselves at a turning point.

Among the new features in the game is the ability to form a horde and migrate with certain factions. Some, like the Visigoths and Ostrogoths, do that in search of a new home, while others simply have a taste for plundering, leaving behind a trail of destruction.

With the impact of seasons, a gradually cooling climate, marauding hordes and entire regions burned to the ground, sustaining your people will become more and more challenging and famine may become the biggest threat to your faction’s survival yet.

One thing I will say is that I am really enjoying the survival vibe we have been given so far in build up to the release. Some people with the preview builds have also mentioned that it is a struggle to maintain what you have. I think it is great how it is not just the huns and other hordes, but the changes in climate and other things that look like they will add to the challenge.

Previous total war games have tended to be all about expanding and at a certain point you can steamroll everyone. So far Attila looks like it might play out a bit differently to this. Fingers crossed!

Well your trailer is very good, shame it was this short. I do hope machinima makers will do their videos a bit more like this with one people units and not just battles.

I've really enjoyed these Horse trailers, a great way to introduce different factions and even characters. The Red and Black horses haven't quite managed to give me the same awe the White did, but I still enjoy watching them from time to time

Attila holds promise, whether it lives up to it is anybodies guess. I'm very tempted to pre-order, life is only so long and Attila wargames seldom. I fully expect a host of bugs to be corrected with patches, but this is life! At the price they are offering, nobody reasonable could accuse CA of gouging. I'd call the price almost cheap, pretty good for a wargame of this quality.

Personally I do not like these trailers given to increasen the (possible?) immersion.
Better give us a good demo so we can judge this game upfront !

Seems to focus on the Goths.

Edit: Is this old? I haven't seen any discussions on it.

They published it on YouTube about a week ago. So far, we have White Horse for Eastern Romans, Red Horse for Sassanids, and Black Horse for Goths.

I always assumed the Huns would be the Black (or Dark) Horse. Hmm... I wonder how they shall be represented.

I didn't want to play the legendary position of the WRE first, but this Trailer makes me want to play it. This is one of the most epic cinematic gameplay scenes i saw and yes it is preordered since is saw the black horse! It would be nice if you could build many such cinematic scenes into the game ...

Gimmicks. Horses still look bad. $100 says the AI is still crap. After 20 turns I bet $200 it is still Agent: Total War. Call me when they do Empire 2 on a complete new engine.
