Default Clogs of Dust on the GPU

How often do you clean up all the dust on your GPUs? I've had my GF 7900GT OCed since last March and it always had a temp of 49-52C but a couple of months ago, the temp rose to 67-72C and stayed there. I was a little bit concerned but I figured it was caused my the extreme heat in my area. Today, I decided to remove as much dust as I could from the GPU in preparation for M2TW next week and after starting up my PC and checking my GPU core temp, I was happy to see that it went back down to 50-52C. ****, from now on, I'm cleaning the GPU once a month.

It is not a matter of cleaning everytime, but you need to make sure you have enough fans. I have a really big fan blowing on the side of the machine where the case has a nice hole to blow alot of air onto the VC. Now, I would see about moving the clips in the PCI slots above and below the card to allow dust to pass through the computer, instead of bouncing off and landing on your card.

I try and dust off the whole inside regularly. Ever since the time in summer when it was so bloody warm here and the computer started shutting right off after 3-5 minutes of gaming. I even asked around here in the basement. And in the end i called customer service and they recommended dusting of the inside of the computer. And after i had done that, everything worked perfectly again.

So yeah, it is very recommended.

It is. I used to have my old PC on the floor but I had this problem with constantly kicking it by accident so one thing eventually led to another.

No. I'm going to look into that, thanks. It would be nice if I could install dust filters.
