    Default Total War: Warhammer?!

So I just saw this posted by PC Gamer and thought you guys would wanna see it, it looks like the partnership between CA and Games Workshop has inadvertently revealed Total War: Warhammer, assuming it's true and not a joke/fake.

Should have included this, this is a link directly to the forum article in another section of TWCenter that appears to be the source of the reveal.

I don't understand how can the new engine take something like warhammer.
It's barely functioning for rome and after all the patches and the battles still looks very bad.

I think this has the potential to be very awesome.

I wonder if there's any link with these modders and CA - surely CA must have seen CoW and been inspired by all the great work it contains.

The Danes, I swear, with their half arsed attempts at a 'war'. You gotta give it to 'em, they just dont stop trying. Listen, I've fought the Timurids, ever heard of them? Elephants with cannons on their backs. Yea, Timurids. You guys are like kids on tricycles compared to them. -REZ

It may be. Also i think creative assembly are already big fans of warhammer. And this is best universe to fit to a total war type of game.

They did excellent work with Alien license, but then again, Rome 2 was a joke when it released, no idea how Attila will be, it looks promissing, but so did Rome 2... WH is much more complex IP too, so I wonder how much of the license we will be seeing, what is the setting, which factions, etc. I sure do hope it isn't the case "put out something", and release rest as DLC later, which HW is perfect for, I don't trust Sega in that regards. Hell, they even cut out Greeks for the release of Rome 2, imagine GW-license with that mentality. Attila has already dlc pre-order threaths too if I'm not mistaken, and it isn't even out...

But it is too early to say anything really, with no info, it could be very different from TW-too, I do hope it is awesome whatever it will be. Alien:Isolation is a proof they do care about other licenses, if they can give as good treatment to WH, I'm in.

I dont know why but i believe that RODG will still be better, even with worse graphics and engine limitations of med 2...

If they release it on Warscape engine they can just go themselves. I won't come near it unless everybody and everything gives it a stellar praise.

Yeah, Warscape has a lot of problems, but its "more flashy" combat might actually work better with WH than historical setting which has roots in reality. This game is propably atleast year away, I doubt they would release it close to Attila at all, they have time to try to fix the engine. Unless it is very different, not an actual TW-game, so it won't take steam away from Attila.

Rome 2 got lots of praise too. But I'm sure THIS time the praise will be justified.

The reason why companies like CA can keep doing the crap they've been doing for 10 years is people like those in this thread, who will buy any piece of the corporate sphincter squeezes out. "Ooh, it looks very interesting! Guaranteed sale!" How many times do you need to get ed before you wake up? Learning difficulties are really widespread these days...

Actually i didn't buy Rome 2 and have no plans on buying Atila nor warhammer "when/if it come"

I refuse to buy games and i'm sorry if this will offend the people in this forum but rome 2 is one of the worst games i've ever seen compared to the rest of the stuff they made.
Even empire looks good compared to it

Even though I'm glad to see that this project is still alive (it has begun in 2012 remember? http://www.creative-assembly.com/new...warhammer-game). I'm a big fan of the Total War series and of Warhammer BUT it won't be developed by the team that used to work on the Total War franchise, for all we know it could be a mobile game or a MOBA or Khorne knows what...

On 2012 when SEGA revealed the deal with GW I remember there was much hostility among the fans about it. They considered and still do that a Total War game must be set in a historical period and not in a fantasy world. Most TW fans want to see a Medieval 3 rather than a Warhammer game.

2015 will see Total War Attila and its DLC so I guess we'll know in 2016 then.

I tought that would be the case too, well they still can do other stuff, but it is seems it will be TW-Warhammer. Again, I try not to get hyped, it is Sega and CA after all (even tought Alien:Isolation was excellent, it is far more simpler game) But, they can hit a home-run with this, if done right.

Sega/CA can do a lot of good things with the TW formula if they don't screw things up and they hire capable people who respect their customers.

I wish to see the Chinese three kingdoms era....hell i'd even love to see romance of the three kingdoms as a spin off.

It doesn't have to be historical although i'd love to see a medieval 3.
Thy just need to create a new engine.
