Default To Lead or not to Lead?

Hey guys, I just noticed today a part of the faction summary saying I had an "Average Leader." How do I improve this? Is it better for him to be leading in the field or back in my capital?

    Thanks!

I had this too, sometimes it pops up, sometimes it disappears and I dont know how to regulate/control it.

The new characteristic is a way to represent the head of the state governing from the faction capital. To have that bonus the leader must be either inside the capital as a general or in the "council" (disbanded). I think I read somewhere in the forums that to improve his leadership he must gain ranks, either by battles or accumulating XP from governing cities. The fastest way to gain ranks is fighting, I believe, but if he fights sporadically he will do better staying in the capital. Also, while fighting outside the capital, the bonus won't appear, so everything will depend upon your plans on him:

I do love the leader thingy. How it can make a difference. I had my faction leader marauding through cisalpania, sacking some villages in germanicum and defending Sicily from Carthage. After that I put him in Rome as a governor. It's a nice rpg element which I do like

It is based on positive or negative aspects to the character.

I've got "Superb leader". He's done nothing but sit in the capital all his life. Now he's an essential cog granting +5 PO to all provinces (plus all his other amazing gov traits).

    What'a guy
