A joke about Mohammed is a racist joke!

We wouldn’t insult people based upon race, colour, culture, or sexuality etc, that is not our philosophy. Yet insulting billions of people is ok because it is ‘free speech’, though in any other context apart from insulting islam and its people it is not, is this ‘our way’?

I think its about time we visibly stopped insulting our neighbours, at least THEN we can talk about free speech as truly free. We have the free speech to joke about anything, but as a courtesy and in many cased the law, we don't do that.

I think the Islamic world in general would become more comfortable with non-Islamic members of our world society, if we gave them the same amount of respect we afford ourselves.

THEN, we can begin to deal with other issues such as the existence of Israel. ...but we need to come to talks from a position of respect, anything else is simply unintelligent.

If not: A joke about Christ is a racist joke.

With all due respect let me rephrase something:

"I think the Christian world in general would become more comfortable with non-Christian members of our world society, if we gave them the same amount of respect we afford ourselves."

or


"I think the Buddhist world in general would become more comfortable with non-Buddhist members of our world society, if we gave them the same amount of respect we afford ourselves."


And:

"I think its about time we visibly stopped insulting our neighbours" aka people belonging to : Mormon, Hindu, Christian, Hebrew etc, cults.

If what you are trying to say, applies only to Islam then Islam has a BIG problem .

Insufficient basis for discussion, a highly subjective viewpoint with an extremely narrow premise (why does this logic not apply to other religious and indeed non-religious groups, of course we'll fast lose out on being able to say anything then of course)...and in general...just...no.
