Default Wow, the 8800's are on Newegg....

Yep, they are here, and damn, wow they are quite large, but pack quite the punch. Well, it looks like another card can be proclaimed the king of Graphics:
    http://promotions.newegg.com/NVIDIA/G80/index.html

I'm kinda surprised at the prices, they dont seem TOO much considering at how the GX2's and the 7800 GTX's were...I wonder how the 7900 series will drop, maybe I can pick up one of those..... or just look at the old bank account, and really **** my chances for a decent car this March

$500 is still very, very expensive for a GPU though, especially when you've got $240 to actually use....

has DX10 too... I wonder how buggy or decent it is.... time to go search out reviews....

    Those things are MASSIVE...

And as I said before, if I were to buy a Direct x 10 card, I would wait to buy a second or third generation card, just so I can get top performance, but at an affordable price.

There are reviews on the inquirer...they seem to perform quite well.

If anyone wants to buy one, wait it out for a week or two. The prices are too inflated, it's even more than nVIDIA's suggested price. Usually online stores sell way below the suggested price. I predict in 3 weeks the Geforce 8800GTS is going to be below $400.

Cards seem too expensive for the performance gain you get according to this review http://www.techreport.com/reviews/20...0/index.x?pg=1

On a side note are there any ATI cards that have a good warranty?

    Wow.

Probably a stupid question, but I wonder what they're going to do once they release the 9xxx series. Adding another digit would make their numbers seem small compared to the Radeons,

    D'oh...GTS=$500...

I predict in 3 weeks the Geforce 8800GTS is going to be below $400.
    Hope that's true

Well, they perform about 80% better than current high end cards (X1950XTX, GX2 and GTX) but the 8900GTX will come along and eclipse the 800 series just like how the 7900GTX has eclipsed the 7800GTX so my advice is to wait and get the 8900GTX.

Why do you say they perform 80% better than current high end cards when every benchmark I've seen shows minimal gains over current high end cards :hmmm:

You've been fooled by CPU bottlenecking. Look at the FPS when the resolution is very high, like when it's at 2560x1600. At that resolution graphics cards will start to lag behind a little, and the Geforce 8800s will show their true power.

Well from my view they are very cheap. Hell I could get near a half dozen for what I paid for my Quadro FX. I will however wait until Vista before I get my new system.

Well the first review I seen reported a massive 80% gain. But I suppose if it isnt twice almost twice as fast as the last gen then it aint a good card.

Even I can't/wouldn't/shouldn't buy one of those GTX's for that price, though I wish, I wish I could! The GTS is overpriced from the start though. Incinerate is right, the price of the GTS will be dropping soon, especially when they don't sell many of 'em. The GTX will undoubtedly hold it's price regardless of the release of the R600.....

I'm looking at the techreport.com review for the 8800, it doesn't look to good...the old geforces and the radeon x1900 perform just as good or better in gaming, http://www.techreport.com/reviews/20.../index.x?pg=12

Dude, that's a single VC beating everything except the "former" 3 best VC's on the market in SLI and Crossfire!
