Default Why not in spanish and italian???

Can anyone from CA or SEGA explain me why the hell spanish and italian players cannot enjoy a dubbing in our languages while french and germans do???

I checked Attila Total War on steam and it appears the same as Rome II, neither spanish nor italian voices...

    Why? Por qué? Per chè?

The answer is easy mi señor: Because we are just poor negroes!

But I don't complain they are veterans, they were with 'Stonewall' Jackson during the Valley Campaign, and then they were at Seven Pines , Second Bull Run, Fredricksburg and Chancellorsville! They are (Total)War heroes!

Maybe because we need to improve our English-Latin pronounciation. For Spanish, say Roariai!, Jastatiii!.

Maybe that happens because both french and german sales surpass those of Spain and latin american countries

Or maybe culture VAT in Spain is now higher so actors work costs more.

Why not all that and more together? things are more complex than we usually think.

Unfortunately, it's probably for economic reasons. France and Germany are the biggest economies in the EU and the sales of total war in those countries (maybe not just the sales but at least the money they make in those countries) is probably higher than in Spanish/Italian-speaking countries. It's a little bit sad, but I think that those languages might make an appearance for the next major total war title (as Attila is kind of a glorified expansion).

On a side note, total war games are never translated in Dutch for instance (not even subtitles in Dutch for Rome II). So you're better off with Spanish and Italian than say Dutch...

Strange, Rome II's steam page does not indicate that but I wouldn't be surprised that it's a mistake (don't want to change my game settings to Spanish to check it, so I trust you^^). Anyway, that's kinda surprising then, considering the amount of Spanish-speaking countries in Southern America. But then, Spain's economic situation is not so bright, so it may have played a role.

Does it say to you that it has Spanish speeches or voices? That is funny, I have just checked the language tables and it says, interface yes, voices no, subtitles yes. Maybe what you see is a steam mistake because in game, speech is in English.

    So it says for Italian.

It just says that there is no full audio for Spanish and neither is there for Italian (according to steam) for both Rome II and Attila. But I think I misunderstood what you meant: Spanish and Italian were available for Shogun 2, and I thought you were talking about Rome II. Anyway, I thought that they would only expand the pool of languages that they supported, especially since they added Turkish recently and since Rome II was a commercial success. Maybe they don't expect Attila to do so well? (but that doesn't make a lot of sense, after Shogun 2 I cannot understand why they would remove Italian, especially for a game about Rome...)

Actually, now I'm curious, why did they remove Italian and Spanish for Rome II in the first place? It doesn't make a lot of sense. They knew that Rome II was going to be a success, and it probably was a hit in Italy and Spain. So why remove those languages? It's weird to say the least...

Maybe those languages implementations were not able before the date of reléase, or there was not an agreement with any of those languages companies on time. Or maybe because they are a success without the language then why to make the spent.

Yes, those are very possible reasons.

    >Makes game about ancient Rome
    >Romance languages not included

On a more serious note, they are not going to make translations until the number of Spanish or Italian players does not increase.

That's probably it, I'm assuming the vast majority of players are either native English, French or German speakers.

I don't care about the Spanish version because I always play on English for the sake of mod's compatibility.

They actually should't translate to french nor german nor english, all voices should be in its original language...

People should just learn to speak English, that goes for the French and the Germans too, makes everything so much easier.

I speak spanish, german and english but I would like 10000000 times that CA translated their games again to spanish. Like before and during 10 years. And out of respect for us mediterranean and american folks.
Napoleon was the last title properly translated to the 5 languages. Shogun 2 was all in japanese, which was a good decision. Now they have a bigger budget and they refuse to translate their games. Economic reason is not justifiable.
And people with attitudes like yours make this world a little worse. I guess most of north americans think like you.
