    Default Idea: Army View

I was thinking about how I miss City View and hope it gets patched into Attila (since it doesn't appear to be in it right now). Then I realized how cool it would be to have a similar function for armies. Being able to see my army in its encampment wherever it is on the campaign map would be really awesome. It would add so much life to the game if the soldiers in the encampment went about their day doing different tasks.

Sure! Or perhaps, use that time on important gameplay features and mechanics, not just candy?
Apologies for anyone who's message i may miss or not be able to answer

    Or do both.

Oh, this would be a fantastic feature. Like a sort of parade ground thing for when they are garrisoned in cities, or able to form them up and march them around camp when out on campaign. Would be great for pictures and movies and just looking at your army.

I'd like that, one could get really creative with the activities of the camp inhabitants, and daily life and routine animations could be cool, this would work particularly well for nomad hordes with civilians mixed in, not just regimented Roman forts.

In my opinion it's the 'eye candy' that makes part of the spirit of the game, alongside mechanics. That's why TW games need good aesthetics and it's why I loved the wild animals and birds in Rome 2. City view was a similar flourish that, granted, isn't a groundbreaking feature, but that adds more life and colour to the game, the sort of thing that makes you want to keep playing.

This suggested feature would be really nice and do just that, great idea +rep

I don't think the amount of time implementing such a feature would justify it, especially since it's a feature where you'd essentially use it once or twice then forget about it.

It's the sort of goodie they could provide post-release, in one of their patch-accompaniment 'free-lc' packages.

I think these types of "immersive" features are what Total War has always been missing for me. The series is by far my favorite strategy games, but there was always something that just kept me from getting deeply lost into them like I do with games such as Skyrim and Dragon Age. The worlds just never felt alive to me. But things like this, the ability to look into the world your fighting for, feeling like it IS a world you are fighting in, not just some "map" placeholder that serves its purpose as a level to fight on. Features such as this would breath life into the countless men you send to their deaths, make them seem like inhabitants of this world, not just a unit in your army. I feel this is the reason why people love the Family Tree so much. It gives your generals and mayors life, a story. They feel like living beings, not just another mechanic that gives you an advantage in battle when they have 10-star command stats. These are the things Total War needs. To bring detail and believability to the micro-scale to give the macro-scale significance. Things like City View, civilians in the Battle Map, and a feature like this suggested "Army View" are steps in that direction. In short, I agree .

I'm really looking forward to the return of the family tree and the titles/governorships. You make your own story in Total War so it was a total role play killer in Rome 2 when your characters didn't even matter and had no bonds to one another. Now I can divide my empires once again, giving certain lands to different families and their descendants and seeing how they fare.
