Default From 42% to 11% senate drop instantly!

Playing as ROME N/N, nice little 4th tier empire going on when a pop up hits me " enemy at the gates -140 loss " and the eyeglass took me to ROME the city. The problem is there is no enemy within a thousand miles of the place! Ouch! I will recover but it can really mess your political standing up .

why do u even want it high %? it only comes with negatives and civil war. seems like lower the better tbh.

if it was well implemented and fleshed out i'd be all for it. its just thrown in though and the way it functions doesn't make any sense.

Then you have not studied the effects, which I suggest you do for your own sake. The sweetspot for Rome is between 30 and 49%, almost pure bonuses, including PO and research bonus.

In earlier versions of vanilla, you got a civil war, if influence drops too low. And a very nasty one, because the rebel army spawns in your capital. Did CA or DeI changed this mechanic?

I found public order got really bad when I had low influence.

For multi faction parties, you want it to be between 40 and 50% to give you the best bonuses possible, and a low chance of a civil war.

For single faction parties you want it as high as possible.

In either case, if it's below 30%, you take pretty heavy penalties. Lower is not better in this case.

Peoplescavalry had it right about in the sweet spot for Rome. 40-45%.

I had the same thing as Seleucid - eyeglass took me to water just outside Antioch. Thing is there was never any enemy there in the first place (fairly new campaign).

I've also experienced this as the Seleucids. It's happened twice in 60 or so turns. Apart from no enemy armies being anywhere near the city there was an army of my client state the Sardes passing by at the time I got the message, don't know if that has anything to do with it

I also had a navy there, except he was docked in Antioch at the time the message came up

I have had the same message, in a province with no armies at all, with crippling loss of influence. I reloaded the end turn and it didn't happen again.

It just means that when the enemy at the gates mission was assigned, there was an army in that region(sometimes just anywhere in your territory, actually), and you didn't defeat them in time, thus you lose support, it's stupid, even when that army just walks away.

When it happened to me, I reloaded my savegame and no, I was not assigned the "at the gate" mission, or any other mission for that matter. Sounds like a bugged event.

Maybe I can remove this event.

Dresden, would it be possible to supply an official submod for DEI that disables the political system for all factions? This is one reason I enjoy the smaller factions in the Official AFP mod. The political system in Rome II is just an annoying mess. I would also like to disable all events where a choice is forced upon the player. These are an annoying mess as well.
