    Default Problems with reforms again (Suebi)

    I had posted a problem I had with reforms a while back during my Missalia campaign, and I'm experiencing a similar problem again, this time in my Suebi campaign. Somewhat randomly, perhaps after other factions had reforms, I was able to upgrade certain units to their reformed counterparts. This is all well and good, but I didn't see anywhere that I could recruit these units myself. The reforms guide says that I needed Imperium level 4 and at least 90 turns before my faction has reforms. I'm very close to Imperium level 4, and I'm well past 90 turns, but I'm able to upgrade my troops.

    My question is, will I need to use the hotfix (was made for .96 I think) that I was recommended last time, or will things straighten out when I reach Imperium level 4?

    The hotfix probably disables unit upgrades, which may help in your case.

    Something seems to be wrong with CA's upgrade mechanic after one of the recent patches. I am not sure exactly what is causing it. Somehow at times the upgrades bypass our unit restrictions, sometimes they don't. What makes absolutely no sense is that if a unit is "upgradeable" it should no longer be recruitable, at all. The mechanic should replace the unit.

    With our reforms system, other germanic tribes shouldn't be able to hit the reforms before you. If they did, then that is a problem in the scripts.

    If you upload your save I can try to take a look at it.

    Thanks, it looks like somehow the german reforms triggered for the AI before you hit them. I had thought we fixed that in 1.0. For now the fix pack should help you, I will see what can be done about this.

    Do you have any submods or old versions of DeI in the data folder?

    I only have DEI for mods, and in my data folder I have the pack files and png images for ___divide_et_impera_010_part1 and then ___divide_et_impera_release_part2 through 4.

    On the topic of reforms, I posted in the bug thread the fact that I was able to recruit Thorax Spartan Hoplites on turn 140, as well as upgrade my Spartan Hoplites to the Thorax version, however I have not yet reached the required Imperium 5 to do so, I think it is the AOR Spartan Thorax units I am recruiting because they have the banner on the unit card.
    What this has done, as there seems to be a campaign cap on the number of Thorax Spartan Hoplites that I can have, which is fine, but I have also been denied access to the Regular spartan hoplites as if I have had my reforms.

    If not, then using the pack I posted a few posts up will help hopefully. It seems that something is very wrong with the upgrade mechanic. If I can't find the cause, we may have to remove unit upgrades altogether. Its either that or the AI reforms are triggering again before the player reforms and locking the units via the upgrade mechanic.

    Edit: There is a campaign cap on AOR units but not on the base Spartan units (if you are playing as sparta). You should be able to recruit either the Hoplites or the Thorax Hoplites. If you can't recruit either of them, then something is bugged.

    Ok, using the first pack I posted should allow you to recruit your units properly (in theory). The second one I posted is a test pack to see if breaking the unit upgrade table into multiple parts somehow affected something. I doubt it did.

    The global reforms should revert to the player level of reforms according to the scripts, but that apparently isn't happening (or isn't playing nice with the upgrade mechanic).

    Okay, so I'm assuming with the first pack I won't be able to recruit the reform units that I had upgraded to until I hit the proper Imperium level, but will still be able to recruit the older versions of these units?

    That is correct, you should be able to recruit the pre-reform units until you hit your reform level. If you can't then something else is going on I will have to figure out.

    Yep, I just hit Imperium 4 and the reforms set in. I'm able to recruit all the new units with no problem. Thanks for the fix pack!

    Iceni do not have reforms, correct? It seems I can recruit nearly the whole roster after about 35 turns.
