Definitley Bartix, and the many different variations of the tribes that inhabit the area around Bartix.
So how many spare faction slots does that give us spare?
Heres the biggies that i think should be included:- Muscovoy (sp?) and Novgorod, Lithuania, Aragon, Burgundy, Either Norwar or Sweeden, Teutonic Order maby (but they could just be couted as HRE), Genoa - instead of being incorperated into Milan. Thats the main ones i think that are missing. Wouldnt be bad to add a couple Muslim factions too.. like the Timirud Empire. Adding these states at least would make the game complete in my opinion![]()

Well I think there is 21 slots used at the moment ( both playable and non playable, also includes rebels ) So that would give the modders a full 10 slots, unless I have made a mistake.
So seems that everyone could be made happy. Bohemia looks like it could be one of the first to be placed in though, cause I recall reading on these forums a good amount of support for that faction. Also will ease their job as they don't have to choose a faction to replace.
Also I personally ( not based on history at all ) Bohemia, some more muslem factions, Ireland ( I am Irish shoot me ) Just generally where the factions are spread a little thin bulk those areas up abit. Also splitting Russia into two kingdoms would be nice.
Although I hope that someone is gonna make a map with extra provinces like RTW. Although I ain't a modder, cause i simply can't get my head around it. I love to see all these exciting mods ( little and large ) taking shape and then getting to play them.![]()
If rebellions and emergencies will be similar to BI it would be interesting to use a few slots for faction rebels and similar stuff as aside 4-5 factions (like other celtic/iberian/german tribe, numidia plus one or two factions in africa and in the east) the other slots would be kind of tricky to be effective as 1 city factions tend to be not so well managed in the hands of the AI and they would be in crowded places most likely (syracuse and pergamum could be good examples) making their life even harder...

I also think that there shouldn't be any single-province factions, such as Syracuse, Pergamon, Sparta and Judea. These should be classified independant factions, in other words rebels. They didn't expand much (I think) and it makes no difference when attacking them, long as they have the correct units. Looking forward to conquering Sparta, and with the right upgrades recruiting Spartan hoplites for my Roman army(Yeh it never happened but would be fun
).

How do you know that the faction slots are 31?

There are 22 factions in M2Tw(including rebels), and Episoltary Richards who visited the dev studio for a week confirmed that there are 31 factions slots(including rebels).

Right, here would be my dream 31 faction roster (boring, I know!):
1. SPQR
2. Carthage
3. Aedui
4. Arverni
5. Pontus
6. Armenia
7. Egypt
8. Belgae/Nervii
9. Casse
10. Sweboz
11. Chatti (or some such Germanic tribe; I'm not an expert on them)
12. Sauromatae
13. Saka-Rauka
14. Massagetae
15. Parthia
16. Seleucid Empire
17. Bactria
18. Mauryan Empire
19. Saba (in Arabia)
20. Nabataea
21. Massaesylii (or how do you spell it? The North African guys)
22. Ilergetes
23. Turdetani
24. Macedon
25. Epirus
26. Getae
27. Syracuse
28. Sparta/Chremonidean League
29. Pergamum
30. Some sort of Pannonian faction? Or Illyrian?
31. Rebels, of course.

Another option would be to represent better "loose" factions (like GCS) if the superfaction settings have been improved...
I'm sure there is more than a few people that would love to play as one of the greek city states, a single celtic/german/iberian tribe or (big stretch) a seleucid vassal state...
I would suggest the factions that i would like to see... but the
"31 faction slots confermed! Whats the plan?"
Suggess this is aimed at the makers of EB2.
As long as Syracuse and the Nubians are in i dont mind about the rest.
What do we mean by patriotism in the context of our times? I venture to suggest that what we mean is a sense of national responsibility ... a patriotism which is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.
Having 31 faction slots and filling these will take an awesome time to mod. Think of that there is still being worked on EB 8.0/1.0 and by the time we would have a descent mod release (also think of that there must be like 11 skins for every unit)we would be into somewhat another 1,5 year.
Some would be easier than others. BUilding and unit descriptions for the Pergamene kingdom or syracuse or another german or another iberian faction would not vary too much from the ones of their 'sister-factions'. Different skins would be more time consuming. Some like the Numidians, Indians, Kush/Meroe, Lugians, Illyrians, etc. would certainly take longer.
The only problem i would have is this. Lets consider greece, if we shove 5 factions into greece, basically in a few turns we just lost 3 or 4 factions. Its cool to have many factions, however, i rather have 2 semi-strong factions fighting and holding rome back than 4 weak factions who get wiped out 1 by 1. Perhaps having another italian faction to compete with the romans would be wise, as i do not know who was there at that time, i cannot give a specific faction. Im sure though, the EB team will think of something godly for us to play-Leon
Well now with 31 nubia or aksum , your choice of course need representation .
There is also a couple of indian factions you could do as well , or a southern arabian faction.
As one guy said about Nubia/Meroe/Aksum. They would just have spearmen & bowmen. Unit roster done.Originally Posted by scannerfish
Depends if we expand the map to cover more of India. All depends on what limits there are.
