Default Is there Culture in Attila?

    Hey
is there any culture in Attila? I mean none of the previews talks about it, and I haven't seen any of it.

I always liked it, and I would be sad to see it leave.
Can anyone confirm it or dismiss my fears?

I dont think its in the game.

It would be pretty typical of CA to add in religion and then remove culture. Basically making religion pointless since its not an added layer of depth, but might as well just be culture renamed.

    Nope no culture.
I agree with Leving's opinion, CA missed an opportunity to add depth into the game instead of renaming and reusing older features.

While I hoped that Culture would still be in-game, there would be following problems -

Either culture and religion would bring massive public order penalties, and then you would be probably penalized in double way for conquering regions, and it would mean that religion and culture conversion should be at least done in moderate way, which in 4TPY would probably be stupid and complained about.

Or both culture and religion would be a moderate penalty at best, and somewhat easily discarded because you could probably endure that relatively easily.

Best way I think would be both cultures and religion, but with culture bringing maybe rather buffs and small debuffs with SLOW culture conversion rate. Also other culture could hamper somewhat religion conversion. Religion on the other hand, should bring more penalties while the religion of faction and province is different, with smaller buffs to it. But this is just brief idea. And probably in few hours I'll think of it as bad

They should include culture and religion, and it could be rightful so be proper balanced out.

I think culture is way to important to keep out of this game!

That's a shame that there is no culture. The Romans absolutely despised the barbarians (even the "friendly" ones), and I wish culture could've reflected that.

Although I suppose religion also suffices to represent culture. One point of contention between the Romans and the barbarians was that the Romans considered Arian Christianity heretical, and groups like the Goths and Vandals both believed in Arian Christianity. There was actually major persecutions against the Catholics of North Africa inside the Vandal Kingdom. Similarly, Roman Catholics also despised Germanic Paganism perhaps even more than Arianism. Religion can be used to represent a culture clash.

Culture was useless in RomeII, it was unchangeable and it only effected what buildings you had access to. Technically it is still in Attila, its just not represented by useless numbers that messed with public order.

Yeah it took a lot of time to convert, but that was the point, and yeah it was just culture buildings which affected it, and some traits.

And thats the point of it, to give the player a chance to understand why a city got unrest, with it's removable from Attila will will properly miss out on some great mods :/

I am Just really not that happy about its removal, I feel city management will be that more weak of it.

Looks like religion takes place of the culture in this one. However, take a look at this (right click and open the picture as a tab to take a closer look at the cards):

There is culture and culture bonus for each faction. So, my understanding is that there is culture but it's set in stone for the faction. It likely only has effect in diplomacy.

However, there is also one more tab in the game that I haven't seen it to be identified:

    Nevermind. It's fertility.

Yeah you are right, but I think its from faction to faction and not from city to city.
As Seteth pointed out it could be the faction trait grouping.

I should maybe have pointed it out that I talk aboot the culture of a city.

Regardless, there is no culture, just religion. It`s no big thing for me in this case, but if it were me, I`d have both, even if in only a small way, since in real life we have both culture and religion which are often intertwined.

Yeah its not a deal breaker, it is just a great feature from rome 2 that I really liked, and as you said they can exist, and work together, none of them should replace one and another.
