I am generally for human Austria, but if I have to chose, it better to have Spain instead of Austria. With Burgundy, France, Scandinavia, Poland and Kebab Austrialess HRE becomes great powers playground.

Burgundy blocks French access to the HRE, there is no one on any Scandinavian countries, Ottoman Empire has to come through the Balkans first, leaving only Poland which is no match for Burgundy. Austria is probably the most important country to actually have a player on in all Europe.

Everywhere else can be reasonably replaced: Burgundy can substitute France, England can substitute France or Castille depending on how the player takes it, Castille can do the same for England or France, Scandinavia can substitute Russians and vice versa. Austria is the only major HRE power in eastern Europe and is the only major power in the way of Ottoman expansion.

I don't mind taking Castille or Austria. Frankly I think Austria is more important to have, but I find it frankly odd if neither Portugal or Castille exist, especially as we've potentially got a lot of players in and around Italy for some reason.

I'll switch over to Castile or Portugal to even it out if that's okay, North Italy is looking a little crowded now you mention it

Is that some kind of joke? Wasn't there an argument that Musty's Byzantium wasn't involved enough in pvp, because it was spreading East? Where do you think the Mamluks will go? Africa and into the East. To make matters worse, if the OE falls you will probably be left with a mega Mamluks - as large as the former Byzantium.

Btw, this is for Greens; As usual the game is at a bad time and day!

This is where I'd place you all if I was in charge (see bold):

    Border: France, Florence, Iroquois
    Nelon: Austria, England, France
    Greens: England -, -
    Poach: Scotland, Portugal, Sweden
Must: Any non-T1, NW, HRE country.
    Petrucci: Poland, Ajuuran, Mamluks Lithuania*
    Keel: Switzerland, Naples, Tuscany
    Abbs: Venice, Burgundy, Ulm
    Cryers: Ottomans, Poland, Venice
Ynen: Burgundy, Teutonic Order, Castille Sweden*
    Alimungo: Castile, Aragon, Tuscany

    * I don't think the TO and Poland would be a fair match; The TO would most likely lose, even if Petrucci was playing as Lithuania. Then you would be left with a mega Poland that can expand into Scandinavia, Germany or Russia against only AI. So its Sweden for Ynen, which is just as good, if not better than the TO. And Petrucci can be Lithuania (similar to Poland, just not as good).

With this plan, everyone has roughly equal opportunities for expansion and equal chances of risk (pvp). But I am concerned about the OE, being the only player nation in the East. It has the opportunity to become very powerful if war doesn't turn out between Venice and Austria. Which is why I highly recommend releasing Persia (and making them independent) from the Timurids - to cock-block the OE getting into the rest of Asia.

I admire that Poach wanted to play Scotland and would have placed him there (with different selections for the other players). But I think the above plan turned out pretty good regardless. Even tho Greens only selected one nation.

Do what I want. To be fair, Mark and I agreed that I could have England so I figured I didn't need any more choices. If I had to pick a second and third choice I'd go with Muscovy and Naples.

I am absolutely fine with playing as Tuscany, might be preferable actually

I wouldn't mind joining this game if there's still room? I probably won't be able to make the first session though, so I'm happy to take whoever's still in an alright position after that really.

Izob isn't playing, you don't need to do it but if you're happy to then that's fine.

I'm not playing Sweden. Too hard to breach the manpower mechanic with them.
I will say again that I switched to Burgundy as my main pick.

Abbs thinks he is all powerful as Venice. Don't worry, I am sure the Ottomans or Austria will strike a deal with you regarding Venice...
