    He's the first?
I thought there had been earlier ones...
Well, guess I was too infatuated with the Amerikanisch elektorate.
But this is good news indeed. It shows at least that the American public is still rather open and liberal and knows at least the difference between good and bad.

I think it is rather a specific constituency that prides its self in not seeing the difference between good and bad.
As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white ****” as they beat me.

I think what he implied is that only 1 Muslim was elected.
It should at least be at least 2.6 percent of the body, so there should be more than 1 to make up for equality.

So yeah, people don't know the difference that well yet. When there are more Muslims in the congress that can actually represent the 8 million in the US, then it would be good.

No. What I mean is that liberals have for years made the point that they do not see the world in black and white, good and evil. Everything is in shades of gray.

Well congressmen are voted by specific geographical constituencies, its not based on net population in the country. Which is fair. Just because 2.6% of America is Muslim, doesn't mean there should be 2.6% of Muslim Congressmen. Muslims could do what Jews have done and place themselves (especially their old folk) in strategic zones and vote in a block. But Muslims are neither united nor have the desire to work together.

So voting for a Muslim congressman was an evil deed? Or good?

I said neither. I only pointed out how wildly wrong this post was in assessing the political attitude of this district.

I never assesed anything and posted this since it was of some historical importance. And Sephod meant that he's happy to see that voters in this district are not painting all Muslims with a terrorist brush and were enlightened enough to give a Muslim a chance. Ie they can see the difference between a bad Muslim and a normal decent one.

Again you repeat your error. Generally speaking, this district could not agree that Osama bin Laden is a bad muslim. They might described him as misguided but not evil.

All I'm saying is that the constituents were enlightened enough to consider an "different" individual for election and not smack him down just because of his faith. Thats all. What reasoning led them there is another topic altogether.

Of course the fact that Minneappolis has the largest Muslim population in the US has nothing to do with it.
I have nothing against the womens movement. Especially when Im walking behind it.

Sephod, what's with this new fetish of yours for putting in the K when pronouncing Americans? Is it supposed to be some kind of communist insult or something?

    Well, there's Amerikaners and Americans.
    Americans are the good facets.
Amerikaners are those who are tired in being good old Americans but instead want to emulate the People's Republik of China.

There are distinctions if you read closely. Not everyone gets the label of Amerikaners from me.

And oh yeah, I'm about as Kommuniz as the Uncle Sam archetype. I am a citizen of Republic of China, better known as Taiwan, and we have been the lapdog of the US for the longest time. But at least I know the Amerikaner has no respekt for anyone in general, be it lapdog or not.

Oh I've known you're from Taiwan, that's why it was confusing to see you use the whole Amerika thing that most 18 year old Communists have a hard on for. To each his own is all I can say.

I have yet to see any Communists on this forum use the word Amerika.
Amerika is more of a German-fascist-Nazi-ist thing, with the spelling, that German emphasis on the A and the K, you know, that scientific way of pronunciating the word as it is written. Military might and big guns make them feel that their tools are larger than their thumbs...
