4ok this sounds dumb, im sure most of you would take it if you could, but honestly, i dont think it would feel right. being so anxious and everything being prepared for the next week, and then you just get it and start playing. while this wont be bad, i just think it would be nice to wait for a friday(you euros!) because i know if i got it early or even when it comes the 14th here, ill play it non stop and not do any homework lol.

i dont know it probably sounds dumb, i geuss for me it would just ruin the epic feel of the game. i think ill pick up my preorder copy tuesday and kind of stare at it till friday-then go at it. i would much rather be able to just sit down, play it all night, sleep when i want, wake up, then play as long as i want then sleep when i want ect. as opposed to getting it tuesday, playing my english campaign, getting it started off, getting all excited i have it, and just as i get comfy settling in, its time to go to do homework sleep and go to school. i think it would be more memorable to clear a weekend to do it and just play non stop. what do you guys think?

Nah I want it the 14th. Because I took the 14th-17th off from work then
I shouldn't have to live in a world where all the good points are horrible ones.

Is he hurt? Everybody asks that. Nobody ever says, 'What a mess! I hope the doctor is not emotionally harmed by having to deal with it.'

No matter how much I want this game, I'm perfectly happy about getting it on the 15th, because by then, most of my big projects and tests will be over, and I'll be able to play the game in peace over Thanksgiving Break (I get an entire week off!!!).

I kinda know what you mean, it almost seems to soon. For me I have Gears of War (which I haven't even had the time to play yet) and Okami for PS2 right now... also I'm waiting a few weeks to get a agp radeon x1650 so that I could enjoy the game better. Not to mention I'm finishing up midterm week and have a few papers due and need to work, ugh hectic times... So yea I actually wouldn't. In fact I plan to not get the game until a few weeks at least and in the mean time try my best to avoid twcenter so that I'm not teased by all the tasty discussions and details....

im building a AMD AM2 3500 64 2gb ram 320gb hdd m2v-tvm XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3 Extreme Edition 580Mhz BlueFire 600w ammo 553 case and I'm totally out of money from bills after buying the mobo and processor. They are just sitting eher with no computer to use them with. My old sempy doesn't run it all that well and i cant afford the game right now anyway. I will still be buying it asap tho.

to any noobs out there who struggle playing this game i have a mid range pc dual core 4400+ 7900gs 256 1.5 gig
and i play the game at 1280x1024 resolution with everything maxed on the highest except for shadows make sure you turn them off on the slider bar and untick shadows aswell cause they are seriously performance hogging to say the least i was getting 21 fps max and about 14 average barley playable
but i turned them off and get 55 fps max and 13 fps minimum but an average of 24 so it a bit of a boost.

    just thought id say it

Of course, if I could take it right now, I probably would. However, I'd probably have to forego playing it for a while because of the two tests I have later this week and the research I got due week after next. The time between then and finals, I'd surely want to take a stab at it.

I guess I'm the odd man out, saying just plain no. Call me a party pooper, etc., but I'm not here to troll, so bear with me.

I've played all three of CA's TW games and their expansions. Great games, all, and I love the strategic + tactical format. Nobody else comes close. BUT - now that I've played RTW/BI completely to death, I just have no desire to play the same game again with prettier graphics.

No, I am not finished; don't hit reply and flame me yet.

I've been watching the development here and in the other forums for the past few months with something between rabid enthusiasm and mild curiosity. Call it quiet optimism, I don't know. I want this game to be a significant improvement over RTW in the areas that matter most to me; depth of strategy, somewhat realistic diplomacy, balanced autocalc battles for when AI factions fight each other (I almost never autocalced, except for the Spam Brigands) and for naval combat, and as important as all of the others combined, better AI performance on the battlefield.

I don't want the game right now. I really only have room in my life for one game at a time. I want a game that drags me into it and makes me want to see my enemy lain waste before me and to hear the lamentations of his women. Immersion - which Rome has completely lost for me.

I'm going to read the forums for a while, see what the veterans have to say, and make my decision later. :hmmm: If M2TW really blows Rome out of the water in terms of gameplay features, I'll rush out and get it once that becomes obvious. That's what I am hoping will happen. If it's as buggy as RTW when it was released and turns out to be the same game with a couple of improvements and a few features lost, I may still get it eventually, but in that worst case, I'll probably wait until the expansion is out.

Okay, now that I've finished, go on and call me a poopyhead.

Actually I'm kind of in agreement with you here for several reasons.

First, there's a lot of other important stuff to do right now, like trying to make more money than the tax man and other people are taking out of my hide.
Second, there's a lot of other very cool games out there or coming up right now, like Armed Assault, STALKER and rFActor.
Third, there's this tendency of the Total War series to become more and more of a micromanagment hell...and I'm not sure if any of this makes for a better game than STW which I'm playing right now with considerable enjoyment.
And finally, RTW was a big disappointment for me, for reasons that I can't entirely figure out. It should have been a blast but really I only enjoyed playing RTR and mainly because of its suprising and magnificent loadscreens.

We shall see...I've got mine on order at EB...but it may not get played that much..
