Taking slaves, is there a right way?
Hey guys. Quick question, no doubt amongst you there are those who know how to play this game and mos far better than I.
The question pertains to the taking of slaves as battle captives. I have found that putting the enemy to the sword (which was far cooler in medieval ii). Is the only worthwhile option, freeing them allegedly makes the foe like me a little, but I am at war so I don't need that, killing them seems apt, but slavery, it just brings headaches in my territories with constant slave uprisings, which can be quite a deal more powerful than my unsuspecting garrisons. As such I am usually forced to "cheat" by lowering battle difficulty to easy and battle time to 20 minutes until a relief force can make its way to crush the threat.
Is there a way to go about taking them?

I release them when my general has the merciful trait, and if he has the Bloodthirsty trait I kill them. But I prefer enslaving becuase of the sell your slaves edicts.

Well, most "civilized" factions have the Sell Slaves edict. Add the Slave Quarters building chain (it has 4 ranks in DeI) in that province and your slaves will sell pretty fast leaving little room for squalor and also generate a great income. I suggest you set up a Slave Quarter in a farming / agriculture income generation province since the bonuses stack up nicely.

Thankyou very much. I have just the right province for that and will try it out.
