    Default Public Order HELP!

    Hi guys!

Just a question: Is public order supposed to be a pain in the ass? Because I'm exactly a 100 turns in now as Rome on N/H and Magna Grecia still isn't happy. It really interrupts my conquesting as I need to send an army back to Italy every few turns to crush a rebellion. I know I better not garrison any generals in settlements, but in my attemps to solve this I put some of them on patrol stance near the cities... Is this a good strategy? Any tips on Public Order or is something wrong?

Here are some pictures, don't really mind the eastern lands though, I just conquered them:

Have you tried to use governors? I believe they should give you aditional Public Order.

How many slaves have you got? Also I'd advise a public order temple in Magna Graecia (can't remember the name, but it has a picture of a tree)

    My humble advice:

1 keep in each full province as single Gen. in patrol mod = massive po bonus

2 garrison a single(!) Gen. in province capital = low po + traits = economic, empire maintenance, research etc.

3 build in each (!) city lvl 2 temples (thus no minus food ) that promote your culture.

4 keep one full Legion / Army to crush rebellions. The SAME Legion !
After 40+ battles which might be annoying but easy, THAT Legion has insane traditions !

5 Never (!) take prisoners, thus slaves, either kill'em or release them...according to who do you want to please or otherwise...

6 Be nasty: Raid your own happy provinces (yet low income) to force rebellions = Army Traditions lol

7 build lvl 3 buildings ( negative food) only when is really necessary, and try to balance (with positive food) in such a way that you still gain at least one of them.

8 Spread you food/industry over your empire to minimize negative PO.

9 Concentrate your Military buildings in on province only with temples that give army bonuses.

10 sacrifice one province to "eternal" rebellions and use it to max ...
Army Traditions and unit experience gain.

    11 Hm that's it...

Thanks, this was very helpful! I guess I focused too much on the in depth gme guide on this forum, in which every province would be either food/ecenomy/military. I will use these tactics and see what happens. Thanks!

@HarkonRules: I take this mod very seriously and I thank its creators, for without it I would not play Rome 2. I did not have this problem before 1.0 and I just need te get used to it. But I guess some people scoff at someone just asking a normal question.

I did answer you with solutions. I just don't see how you couldn't come up by yourself to build public order buildings, to counter, huh, low public order.

This suggestions ruin the game! Is a non-sense to force rebellion just to exploit the traditions! I have some problems in Magna Grecia too, but i'm resolving with governors and an army. In a few turn this province will be happy and i will move the army elsewhere....

@ neoiq5719: It seems as if everything is turning out okay now, though I just crushed a major rebellion, so I don't know what will happen in the future, but here are the pics:

Haha that's what you get for raiding your ownlands, the senate willnot appreciate that

I haven't reached civil war yet, though I did get a notification that it's starting... Will it make a difference btw if you only have your own generals on the field?

Nice list man. Few tips I was ignorant to. As per the perpetual rebellion settlement being abusive, look at it more like a frontier that you season green troops on.

Yes, you are supposed to try to make a remote effort to tackle unhappiness, if that's what you mean by it being a pain in the ass, vanilla Rome 2 pleb.

Really, it didn't cross your mind to build the amphitheatre in the main city, and a temple to Jupiter in one of the minor cities? Just that will solve your problems for a long time. Upgrading the amphitheatre is even better, and to top it off you can even have a dignitary deployed in Magna Graecia and specced for public order and culture bonus, and a general in patrol mode. It's VERY easy to satisfy Magna Graecia. Perhaps next time take this mod seriously and think of actually bothering to build happiness buildings, especially when you go for the higher building tiers that give unhappiness. It's still on the easy side, just not utterly brainless like vanilla. But I guess some people scoff at everything that doesn't give more than 100 Income for a building.

po is easy, find out what is causing it and get rid of it. to get a break down of the causes, just mouse over the smiley/sad face of the tooltip that pops up when you select the settlement in question.

fyi, attila is finally getting rid of the stupid mouse over for more info crap ui, so lets be happy about that.

Use governors. Use champions. Have general in patrol stance, or inside city if not needed.

Level governors and generals to spread culture where needed, to increase tax and reduce empire maintenance otherwise.

Build temples of Jupiter. Build fountains and latrines. Build amphitheatre. These are needed anyway due to public order penalties from city centres and various buildings at tier III and IV.

Sell slaves edict if needed. Be mindful of capturing too many slaves.

As for Krixux's advice, some are good, but some are not. Concentrate food in one province, I use Magna Graecia. It provides 49 food or something in my current campaign (fishing village etc), no public order issues.

No need to build temples everywhere.

Don't garrison the general inside a capitol unless the public order allows it, patrol stance outside does provide a nice plus four.

Always build level three buildings as soon as you can, make sure you have food to cover it.

    Ok ...

    Magna Graecia:

    Brundisium:
main lvl 2 + Fishery lvl 2 + temple of Jupiter lvl 2 + cladiator aren + 1 single gen. garrisoned. That guy will never fight thus max eco and social traits =you get plus in growth, food , love , culture.

    Cosentia :
Main Civic lvl 2 + lvl 2 grain + temple of nimphis lvl 2 = plus in growth, food, culture and lots and lots of love.

    Lhybaneum:
main lvl 2 + lvl 2 trade +lvl 2 cattle + lvl 2 temple of Neptune = lots of cash , culture, bit of food, +/- love and uber major boost in trade. and guns'n rosses (copper) + single admiral eco-socio boost (cheapest boat or just let'im float)

    Syracuse:
main lvl 2 + fishery lvl 2 + grain lvl 2 + temple (any temple but mars) = chubby food + love + chash and/or boost depending of temple.

In Rome region train troops and in 1 turn move'em to south = retrain and there you go.
It costs only 1 turn (!) and you have a full province that will just love you mad.
imho Dignitaries agents go for research not temples ...
