Icon11 DEI is so great that i pooped my pants.

After playing 5 hrs on DEI 1.0.2, i have come to the conclusion that this mod is amazing. Its so good that i pooped my pants. I mean its so good that i think it doesn't even need sub mods because the base game is so incredible. The only sub mods i use are, 12 turns a year and no unit building bonus.
DEI Team Thank you for this wonderful Overhual and all your hard work in bring us this mod.

Playing the mod is immersive but don't forget to use the bathroom!

The 1.x should be renamed Divide et Impera: no pants edition.

I hate losing, but after it's over you come back energized to play again. So actually I love losing in video games, who wants to win all the time, then there is no challenge.
Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.

    In my personal opinion:

You enjoy this because you guys, as well as most other DeI fans, and all the old TW-veterans, seem to be oldschool videogamers. Most have started out back in the early 2000s in a different gaming market that actually produced challenging games. Then came the streamlined, mainstream Call of Duty-like click-action orgies, dumbed down level design to never get lost and easier gameplay to eliminate all kinds of frustrations, to have the game "be fun at all times" - some random quote I remember from a YT interview from a developer/producer/whatever.

What got lost due to this in so many genres seems to be the sense of accomplishment. Rome 2 vanilla was no exception - if it was way too easy and people would build their large empire, without any real points of hindrances to overcome, where was the satisfaction? TW concept is brilliant, but gameplay-wise, R2 vanilla was way too streamlined for my taste.

    Just my .02!

My friends and I call these categories '80s hard and '90s hard.

The early Nintendo games you didn't even get past some of the early levels and you couldn't save. Much of the game content wasn't even seen by most people. That was '80s hard.

The '90s brought somewhat more accessible titles but still retained the hardcore elements. Like Baldur's Gate.

Anything recent in the mainstream, they want you to experience the entire title with little to no hardship.

Most of the difficulty on the various difficulty comes from the bonuses. So...that would be eliminating the purpose of playing on that difficulty? Why not just choose not to save.

I would certainly agree with SilverCohort that my pants have been pooped in once or twice when playing this AWESOME overhaul!
