    Default New Cultures: Ptolemy

Happy New Year!! Quick question (not sure why im thinking about it at 1:00 AM on New Years day) but what is the culture of Ptolemaic Egypt in 1.0. Is it Egyptian or Hellanic? The recruitment tab says I must have a majority culture of Egyptian to recruit Ptolemy units but pretty sure Ptolemies were Greek and recruited only Greek into the army until the 3rd Syrian war. Just confused about egypts new cultural situation and also why it's reforms don't reflect the integration of native Egyptians in the army.

    Happy New Year!!

Egypt has its own culture for various reasons in 1.0. Historically, the top tier of the society at the time was Hellenic. However, there was a large part of the culture that still retained the local customs.

Thanks Dresden. After playing around for a little bit I think I'm starting to get the changes you made, although I still wish there would be some way we can represent the later Egyptian reforms & their historic manpower problem stemming from the military's exclusion of native egyptians. I guess some sort of manpower system would need to be created; any chance thats in the works?

In any case, awesome work with the update! Can't believe you replied so quickly you guys are the best

Right I remember seeing it a while back not sure what ever came of it. Think it's an awesome idea for DEI if they can somehow tie the manpower to the cultural makeup of the region; I.e. Egypt 20% Greek= 2,000 mp for Greek units; 50% Egyptian= 5,000 mp for Egyptian native units, etc, etc.

I think a system like that would just be the icing on the cake in recreating the look of ancient militarized which were a small core of Greek/Roman units with larger amount of native auxiliaries. Idk just as they add more subcultures to the game I feel like, if they want to go the historical route, some sort of manpower system would be the logical next step
