Question about Sieges

So I just tried my first siege defense in 1.0 I haven't fought a siege battle in over a year since I could never stand them before however I decided I would give it a try now that 1.0 is out. I thought that deployables were added to defenders use to defend cities and towns like we had before in fort battles. However when I tried to find them during deployment they were not there. I thought they had a tab in the unit section just like troops and the navy when they fight together. Am I looking in the wrong place, is their a tech I have to research or did I misunderstand when I thought I saw they were added to the game in 1.0? My other question is don't armies that are located inside a city get deployed inside the city. for example I had a general acting as a govoner inside the city on the campaign map however he came on by himself on one side of the map after the battle started he wasn't located in the city at the start of the battle. I know its been a long time since I fought a siege battle but I could of swore any units that are in a city on the campaign map start the battle inside the walls just like in towns?

Yeah, they're enabled to use for everyone, which version of DeI do you use? Steam, standalone? It looks like some kind of a bug, maybe you didn't install all the parts.

I have never seen something like that before, strange indeed.

I think I forgot to apply that to some factions, will be fixed in the next update.

I was using the twc stand alone version 1.01 with the temp fix form Dresden playing as Rome. I started a new campaign today with the new 1.02 however I have not fought a siege battle yet.

Are deployables also suppose to be available in town defenses as well?

Yup, you can use them both in towns with and without walls
