Rome 2 crashes since update

I have a steam version of Rome that I was playing DEI on. Ever since the upgrade neither the moded version or regular version of the game has worked. How should I resolve this? Can I reinstall the game from steam?

I had problems with this, if all else fails -which it did for me- you might need delete your Rome 2 registry settings and do a complete reinstall.

1. delete rome 2 app data roaming folder (the creative assembly folder)
2. uninstall rome 2 from steam library
3. Type "regedit" in windows search to get into registry files
4. Go to HKEY_ CURRENT_ USER then go to "software" and find file "The creative assembly" delete all of it
5. Make sure there are no rome 2 files or folders left in your steam common
6. restart computer and reinstall/download Rome 2 from steam
