Hey guys, I'm sorry I'm taking up so long but after ~1 minute in game I keep getting "Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit"

This makes it very hard to do anything really. I did a completely fresh reinstall of med 2 + the mods and have no other mods installed at the moment. I have no clue what is causing this but ctrl+s after every move and restart the game completely because it crashed sure makes for a slow turn.

Edit: it crashes within the minute now. I've tried doing all kinds of different things but this just isn't working for me. I've spent 90 minutes and have never managed to do more than move 1 army a tiny bit.
I've tried accepting and declining the dilemma (adoption) I was faced at the endturn, nothing seems to work.

I've tried playing a single player campaign (also as the Lannisters) and am now up to turn 10, that seems to work just fine
