    Icon5 Possible morale issue?

I just now am experiencing something weird with morale, and I want to know if other people experience this aswell, just don't know if it is a big issue yet. So, basically I am jst fishing here. I will show you this issue usig a screenshot, and I think it speaks for itself. Has anybody else experienced this, or something like it?

I've seen something like that in vanilla, but not in DeI. Could be there's something weird with the morale though, especially if that particular unit started the battle with very low numbers to begin with.

Here's a screenshot I took in vanilla a while ago - the unit here started the battle at half-strength or so.

Are you playing at EXTREMELYYYY HAAARD battle difficulty?

38 morale for me is extremely low, even merc lowbies on horses cant have much less than 35/30 or so. And they most of the time flee at 70-50% men left. So there is something fishy there. Did the AI have druids or things like that around, with special morale boost abilities?
Maybe they were extremely lucky and never had more than 1 major morale debuff trigger at anytime, but even then, 3 on 60 is FUBAR.

The row ability in the bottom left means they were a naval garrison? Maybe those are not right.

Well considering what Augustunsg wrote, the unit in question is a garrison unit, and the village I am attacking was conquered the turn before I attacked so this unit consisted of like 12 people to begin with. Having 3 people left is like 25% of the unit still alive (which for DeI is extemely low). Just a second later I took these two screenshots since I think they are pretty funny to compare:

EDIT: Overall the morale seems to be fitting in a radius mod rather then DeI...

Sure looks like garrison units have problems, helped or not by their settlement natural rate of replenishment.

That is sure odd, since I routed elite with 60-65 morale while they had more then 50% men in their unit ; p

I am not sure, but I think some units while defending the cities have bonus to morale for last stand or something, this is not shown on unit morale, but is calculated into it. For example, all morale shown on units are their basic morale, while they recieve/lose more for each circumstances, so a unit surrounded by allies and with all other positive buffs might really have not 65 but even up too 100 morale.

What is odd for those guys on screens above is that, for casulaties aboe 90% the morale penalty is -180! So in theory no unit should be able to fight up to 90% of casualties.
