    Default EB2 Quick Questions/Quick Answers

    I have seen threads like this before on other forums. I find them quite useful. Has anyone else had any experience with threads like this?

    The idea is simply to post questions and answers. One of the benefits is this cuts down on new threads for simple things. I have had some simple questions but have wondered where to post them. I don't like starting new thread for small items. It seems like a waste. I find threads like this are also very engaging for the forum community. Hopefully everyone finds this thread useful and has some input.


    I will start things off.

    My FM has the exhausted trait. I rested him for a season and it didn't go away. How many seasons does he have to rest to lose the trait? Does he have to be in a settlement to lose the trait?

    I don't know the exact parameters, but I think the rate of exhaustion recovery depends on how vigorous/languorous a character is, though it may also be modified by age or other factors (like what season it is?). I've noticed some characters can't seem to shake their wariness as fast as others too, but they don't need to be in a city to recover. They may recover faster in a city (unknown) but will eventually recover just by staying put.

    Note: forced marching expert trait prevents exhaustion in the first place.

    I would like to know if you can march tired characters a short distance without tiring them further. Must they rest without moving at all, or can they move something short of all their move points and still count as getting a rested turn in?

    My character has sat in a city for over 10 turns and he is still exhausted. Makes me think that there is perhaps something wrong with the trait. I have never had a character in my current Taksashila campaign lose the exhausted trait.

    I never move my characters to the maximum of their move points. I always leave movement points remaining and they all often get the exhausted trait. I have also done this with exhausted characters and they have never lost the exhausted trait. I believe they have to stay put.


    Is the building tree completely filled out? Or are there still buildings to be added to the mod?

    What is the main culture of Pontos?

    I'm unsure if it is Eastern Tribal states or Eastern Imperial.
    I have the indigenous military settlement in my capital but it appears to be increasing Eastern Imperial. This looks wrong to me since the Eastern Tribal states is at 60% but going down.
    If I demolish the military settlement I assume I will lose the troop recruitment from it.
    Is there anything bad about having your main culture dropping?

    This would be likely because many factions east of Greece can change and reform to Eastern Imperial culture.
    The change from Eastern Tribal States to Eastern Imperial should represent a change from a confederation, alliance, or patchwork kingdom of localized cultures to a more broadly controlled state, with a "high culture" that can be identified as the "culture of that state". If that makes sense.

    If you look at the Reform Requirements here, the script should have Pontos' culture change to Eastern Imperial after you:
    - Conquer Sinope, Trapezous, Kutatisi, Mazaka, Pantikapaion and Chersonesos
    - Win a total of at least 11 battles against any of these factions (spread out between them, not 11 each): Arche Seleukia, Ptolemaioi, Pergamon and/or Bosporan Kingdom

    So, as you may have noticed, some buildings will raise certain cultures.
    It's all timing. I'd start fighting and conquering now so that you will be able to reform cleanly in the future. Unless you don't want to reform.

    Superb. Thanks! So many things about this mod I still don't know about. I will start building military settlements to increase my EI culture.

    How come I can't build military settlements in all my provinces. Does it depend on government type?
    Sinope has an allied state, No military settlement and I can't build one.
    Trapezous has a Sacred Estate, No military settlement and I can't build one.
    Ani-Kamah has a Governor General. I can build a military settlement.

    You can build military settlement when there is
    NO allied government
    NO hellenistic colony
    NO polis of level two or bigger
    and
    road garrison of at least level one (I think it's called strategic fortification)
    farms of at least level two
    pontic government of at least level three (that is Pontic Administration or higher, Sacred Estates and Allied States are not enough)

    ---
    Search the forums for the factions that can horde, there's a list somewhere (from personal experience Numidians and Saka Rauka CAN horde)

    Just a quick question, how come elephants can't be used as siege weapons any more?? Is it an engine limitation, or just a bug that needs to be fixed. I'm pretty sure it's historically accurate, as the Carthaginians used them in sieges against Rome.

    I'm still confused by the Pontic government options. I have just noticed that with the pontic administration that comes default in the capital, I can only build a school. But in Ani-Kamah where I built a governor general, I can build the second level of school(academy). I thought the pontic administration was a higher level of government but it does not enable the higher level of school. Seems strange.

    Governer general is higher level than pontic admin.

    Playing as Roma. I keep getting the colonists message. However, as far as I can tell, I have built the maximum colony building in all the cities that is possible to build in.
    Arretium, Ariminum, Capua, Arpi, Tarentum, and Rhegium.
    Is this a glitch? The message doesn't stop when it should?
    Anything I'm missing?...

    No worries. I can ignore minor issues like this. I just wasn't sure, I'm still loving the mod.

    Couple minor issues here. Maybe someone has some answers.

    Edit: I have been getting a LOT of storms in the little lake west of Patavium. Really annoying, as I have sometimes had a list of 6 or 8 buildings that need to be repaired. Seems a little strange since it happens so often. For awhile, it has been on average every 5th turn or so. Probably had close to 8 storms in the last 40 turns or so. I didn't really count but it must be close to that. That's a guesstimate.

    I have had numerous generals rebel. Again, not a big problem since it's a good gameplay issue but it seems odd. I have had numerous single loyalty generals going around by themselves building watchtowers and they never rebel. I have had 4 generals rebel now but all have been loyalty of 3 or 4 and they have all had full stacks. Is this just a coincidence?

    I have also noticed a couple places where I have installed the regional military pacification (Lepki, and the central city in Iberia). But there is no further provincial government to build after. The government building chain appears to stop at military occupation. Is this intended?
