Hello everyone, first of all I would like to say congratulations on finishing 1.0 your team is highly accomplished and clearly very capable at what they do; I think I can easily speak for everyone who uses the mod: thank God for people like you to make the trash heap that was R2 (it ain't too bad with EE) into a game of the year. In my opinion CA also owes you a great big thank you.

That aside, I would like to pose my only real complaint about the mod: why do we receive such a major economic boost early game? I started a campaign as Armenia and was making 3k on turn one, needless to say I have absolutely stomped the region around me and am still making more than 2k a turn. This is quite an increase from the small amount you used to make in vanilla (around 1-2k more in my experience). Maybe I am the minority in this belief but I just don't see the challenge in the game when I can just toss an army and lose a battle and instantly recover. Can someone explain this concept to me? Does it get harder later in the game to manage the economy? Anything beyond, "Its TOTAL WAR not TOTAL ECONOMY"?

    Have a good one!

Yeah, I think I turned economy upside down : P I mean, this is obvious that you should pay 2000 for single squad of cataphracts, right?

I like an economy like EB 1 had, where you can afford armies but only if you develop your provinces first and keep your enemies from blockading your trade. Too bad this system has such limits on buildings, but the economy should take work for you to be rich. Except the pairs of Seleucids and Egypt, Carthage and Rome, who all had significant resources at game start and were destined to be the big players in the region unless someone else really took a bite out of their empires. That's why these two pairs fought for centuries, because they were the only ones who could economically challenge each other. Egypt was always hugely wealthy, Seleucids were all across Persia which had a few centuries of economic development, paved roads, good taxation systems etc. Carthage already had control of western mediterranean sea by this time, from a trade standpoint nobody could pass goods across the straits of Gibraltar without paying Carthage. Rome had huge manpower and lots of tax base, having recently conquered Magna Graecia and consolidating Italia proper. It shouldn't be easy to match these four as a small tribe of Gauls or a horse nomad tribe.
