Default New lp "Remnants Of Angmar"

Hey guys so I am going to be starting a new lp with this mod in the coming weeks and I was just wondering what sub mod I should use. It been a while since I last play this mod so I assume a lot of the sub mods have moved forward, so instead of me trying out every one I was wondering if you guys could suggest the better ones. I remember MOS being the big one that everyone was playing and being the highest quality however if there are any other sub mods that hit the same quality then, I would love to check them out. I know this is all kinda subjective but I would love suggest from the Third Age community to help shape my decision. If it helps I am looking for something a bit unique but still the same high quality as MOS.

    Thanks Fi

    Edit:
This is the last time I will post here but for though who are instrested here is the first episode of my ...Third Age Total War: D&C - The Remnants Of Angmar LP

    Hello Jackie',

The two foremost TATW submods today are MOS and DaC, so expect it's them you'll get suggested.

Massive Overhaul Submod with new factions, lots of units etc. as you know, is uniqe in it's extensive capacity to customize campaigns by activate submods within at campaign start: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...eased-25th-Dec
MOS is currently not in development, and perhaps the Reunited Kingdom-submod to MOS is of more interest: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-v1-3-RELEASED!

Divide and Conquer is fairly new in release, and provide a great amount of new factions and units, creating a very different TATW experience: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...h-0-4-Released

    @ malwabar
MOS also use FireFreak's map, and version might differ a little but not much

Well I am biased for obvious reasons. Haha. But if you wanted something a bit new then DAC using one of the mod's new factions might be fun.

I've actually skimmed a few LPs and so far I've yet to see anyone play an Umbar DAC campaign, so might be something to consider.

Ah good catch. Although that seems to have been from a very, very early build before Umbar got pretty much it's whole roster rebuilt.

Okay thanks for the ideas. I think I am going to look in to Divide and Conquer a bit more there isn't going to be a update for it any time soon is there ?

I'd suggest Northern Dúnedain. They are well-known, and perfectly depicted in DaC. You start with 2 regions, and first need to retake the old capitals of Arnor (Annúminas and Fornost). You have access to glorious Dúnedain units which are recruited slowly like Elves but are worth it. And then you can focus either on repelling attacks of Orcs from the North and East or advance to the South reclaiming lands of Cardolan and fighting Dunland/Enedwaith.

That's some really nice news, I remember watching your LPs a few years ago!
I would suggest DaC, too. It's far more lore-accurate than MOS. After it I can't look at any other submod. Eriador settlements with thousands of people, ugh.
As to updates, there is a preview of new Khand units on their front page and a new Mirkwood (Dol Guldur) faction intro by xHolyCrusader on page 65 so there can be an update. But don't quote me on that.

What faction are you going to play? Have you made a poll? Or can you name it already?

Hmmm maybe I will drop one of a modders a message to see if they could give me a bit of a time frame ( I know these things are done when they are done but they may have something in mind). like if it is going to be months then I will just do one now however if it is going to be out in jan then I might just wait !

I would suggest DaC, Blue Mountain Dwarves campaign. I wouldn't pick Khazad Dum tho since that campaign isn't fixed yet. The DaC devs are working on an update but it will take a while before they release that most likely, since i think they plan to do alot for it (Dwarven factions overhaul?). You could also play as the clans of Enedwaith and chose either to be good or evil.

Well, the Blue Mountains are getting a small visual update (visual armour upgrades similar to Erebor) in patch 5 but no not really an overhaul. Err, I honestly don't know when patch 5 will be released (it's going to be a huuuuuge update so it's likely to be a fair while yet) so can't say I'd recommend putting off any plans till then.

Yes, I wouldn't recommend Khazad-Dum either as the scripts are still unfinished so things could go a bit weird.

I think I will be doing a poll tomorrow for people to decide and maybe I will stick it on here too if the admins are okay with that so you guys can have a say too. But preferable a bigger/well know faction not like the major faction such as Gondor Mordor ect but still well known as something like that would get a load of views and people would be more likely to keep watching. Also preferably a good(elves men dwarf) faction. I am going to play it for a bit tonight to get the hang of it any suggestions on what faction to play for fun tonight ? Also wow that was a long time ago almost 3 years now since I last had Third age on my channel Hopefully I will see you around on my new series !

It's most definetly going to be months, and not just 1 or 2 i think.

Can't wait to watch the Let's Play!
Though i am affraid the mainstream factions will outdue the actual interesting new DaC factions in the vote.

At the moment it looks like it is going to be between The dwarfs of the iron Hills, Thranduil and Angmar.
