Review:
The second bidet I have used, the first being a fully electronic toilet with integrated bidet in hotel. For an independent bidet (most of them are ugly), the BAS16 is the best-looking one I could find. Installation service is free and fast - scheduled and installed in two days, unlike local brands where nobody answers my call at all. The pressure of water and temperature are all right, though it can't last forever unlike more expensive models utilizing direct heater (which has other issues: higher power usage and initial cold water). All actions take a while to start - like 3-4 seconds. Cleansing seems easy but urinating becomes more troubled because the space is now smaller. Generally speaking it does feel great.
Pros:
- Nice looking
- Good service
- Very high water pressure (adjustable)
- Very warm seat (adjustable)
- No need of manual cleansing for nozzle
Cons:
- Heated water isn't hot enough, not like shower
- Water filter has to be replaced periodically
- Sterilization is utterly useless - I thought it could clean toilet for me.....
- Electronic toilet is still better: bigger space, no visible wires, more consistent appearance.
- Splash of water and might jump onto the surface beneath bidet and require the removal of bidet for cleansing. Removal is easy but they could have prevented this completely by some cover on the seam between bidet and toilet.
- The anti-bacteria cover surface is too soft and I could damage it even by fingernail and tissues; have to clean it by wet wipe
now. Damn plastic.
Conclusion:
Satisfied. It's slightly more expensive than local bidets of the same capabilities (unsure about Japanese ones); For models from the same company, it's however NOT worth of the price because older models such as Coway BA07 providing the same functionality saving sterilization costs only 80%, which means 20% of the price attributes to the new design of appearance...
PS: it's quite difficult to clean the after years of use because the surface is soft plastic with some sort of protection, not hard like porcelain. Thankfully I don't need that anymore.
