    Default Graphical Freakout

I have just reinstalled 6.4 after not having played Stainless Steel in over a year. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to like my PC.

My old rig had worse stats in every way - less and slower memory of older format, slower processor, worse video card.

    This newer one has an i7 3.2Ghz, 16GB RAM and a 970GTX.

On the old PC, stock video settings ran, while it ran better with a bit of tweaking.

On this new PC, the highest settings cause a freakout before it even finishes loading. On lower settings, including the "Autodetect" ones, it takes a moment after the game begins. I've even set unit sizes to "normal", while the old one handled large and huge well enough.

The symptoms are extreme artefacting, distorting the entire battlefield and causing almost everything to not render.

I've been testing performance by taking a full stack of peasants in a custom battle on grassy plain - the most amount of guys the game will allow. I've done this before on my older PC!

Not sure what's going on here. Any ideas?

yeah M2TW runs on a single core :/

Oh and possibly the drivers for your G card is causing some deal of trouble

I couldn't use 3ds max 2008 with the latest nvidia drivers, rolled back to an older version and problem was solved.
Although i don't think this is viable with newest graphics cards as they more likely than not would have more troubles with older drivers :/

Unfortunately I think the 970 only has its initial driverset out. Bummer!
