Default [MOD] Grand Campaign on Imperator Augustus map - Rome 2 Mod

I'd like to thank Thomahawk2k (aka Neusaap uit brazil on TWC) for his work on allowing this release. With my base files, he recreated the Grand Campaign in a similar (but not identital) fashion to what we will be doing. His description of the mod follows.

    Hello everyone.

I am glad to be able to introduce to you all this mod that will allow you all to make use of the following features:
    • Play the Grand Campaign on the map of Imperator Augustus, allowing you for instance to play with walled syracuse and Jerusalem
    • Fight against various factions from other campaigns, who didn't fit in the original grand campaign map
    • Play as the Marcomanni in 272BC
    • Conquer various regions, previously only available in Imperator Augustus
    • Enjoy the imperator augustus campaign with grand campaign factions also in multiplayer campaigns, co-op or head to head. (The only requirement for this is that both parties have the mod enabled)
    • Play the vanilla imperator augustus campaign without restarting, since you start the grand campaign just with the familiar grand campaign button.

NOTE: The factions you can play as is depending on what dlc you have, but no dlc is required to play this mod.

    • Fully compatible with WoS, HatG, CiG, Emperor Edition and any patch after Emperor Edition
    • Compatible with any mod that doesn't override the startpos.esf of the Grand Campaign - ! Important !
    • Compatible with mods that override the startpos of Imperator augustus

I'd like to express my thanks to the following people (and/or companies)
At first I'd like to thank ABH, the project leader of Antiqua Imperium, who made the base for this mod, all I did was building upon that start he made. Be sure to join the steam group of that overhaul.

Also I'd recommend to stop by the forum of Antiqua Imperium[www.twcenter.net].

I also would like to thank CA for Emperor edition, the game, the assembly kit and steam for the workshop.

For the best experience, also try these mods:
    Region names for Emperor Edition
No modern names in Emperor Edition

Thanks. It's a lot of work. Thomahawk made quite a few changes, but I wanted people to be able to play through vanilla. Hope the project keeps doing well.

Thanks for this great mod. If CA does not change the way Rome and Carthage AI plays. I`m glad this mod can give them a small edge over the original map.

Keep working on it and ill keep playing.

Excellent, glad to see somebody has made the initial foray. Perhaps the flood gates will open now

Appreciate the kind words. In terms of the startpos that will be used for our overhaul itself, it has quite a bit of difference in terms of features. 305 factions are involved along with 75+ new cultures.

Yes, several of the mods affiliated or based on work in ours were very popular. Dust particle effect, Para Bellum, and this one here. People just don't necessarily link those mods to this project.

Well wait another few weeks and you can download the AE sub mod for DeI which will have this campaign feature in it.
Vespasian's own: Up the Augusta! For Cato!

    AE: Battle Balancing and BAI.

The movement range for armies needs to be reworked... It breaks strategy a bit, since the enemy can completely avoid your army strategically blocking a river/mountain pass/road/etc and just go around you completely. Or just jump past your defended border territories and attack the ones near your center... The campaign map is chaotic as hell.

Zone of control doesn't work in Rome II period. The problem can be amplified by the increased movement points, but choke points do not exist in that game. If an army has the movement points, it can bipass your army every time if it wants to. The only time you can stop an army is if it cannot move past your army's zone of control.

We experimented with increased movement points here. I don't really apologize for that. I like the result of it and the increased AI aggressiveness. It won't be for everyone. The unfortunate reality is I don't have the time to support the Rome II mod to the level I should and release different versions of the mod to accommodate everyone. It's a pretty easy mod for anyone interested in creating their own version. I've granted permission to people to do that.
