    Default Traits (Display in Summary)

    Hi,

I have one question. I find it very intransparent and hard to retrace what bonuses and mali I get from various sources, i.e. from seasons, characters, wonders, imperium, influence levels,...
This is of course not your fault, but maybe you can do something about? Even the traits in the summary don't help very much, because they are showing only factionwide effects. And even here faction wide bonuses from wonders and characters are missing. So my question is: Is it possible to add those faction wide effects to the trait side? This of course does not help very much to understand those many effects from everywhere and how they actually effect my empire, but at least I could see what I gain from possessing wonders without searching a single province.

And is it possible to link an other encyclopedia ingame? It's a huge downgrade that a DEI encyclopedia is missing in-game. Maybe CA should be informed that this is a very important issue for many mods.

Before EE patch - yes, after - no. There was a possibility of making localhost server with encyclopedia and then redirecting the game to it, but it doesn't work after EE patch.

You can still use my method from like 2 years ago which is to change a single byte in the Rome2.dll that will redirect it to the local copy.

Of course you'd need a method to provide such a thing, and you can't redistribute the DLL itself. So you'd need a tool that could do this (would be very trivial and easy to make), and provide that along with the encyclopedia as perhaps a separate download.

I've tried to find this thing in Rome2.dll file but with no result What I observed is that before EE the encyclopedia was redirecting the game to https://dsi0fanyw80ls.cloudfront.net/en/home so it was easy to change in windows' hosts file. Now it is connecting to different cloudfront servers, so for example if I redirect it the game will use another IP adress. I've tried even to cut the internet connection off the game so that it won't connect anything but with no result.

Yeah, I had something like this before, it was a little batch file that was changing the hosts file and starting a PHP server with encyclopedia, it was like click-and-play But it doesn't work now.

Can you give me the addresses that you've observed the game connecting to?

It appears you're correct, in one of the last 17 patches they've obviously altered the Rome2.dll and what I used to do doesn't work anymore.

Has anyone tried changing the encyclopedia tables in the DB to some pages that don't exist, adding those HTML pages in the offline encyclopedia and seeing if it finds them? That would obviously be ideal.

I don't remember now, I found this IPs by using some kind of a software that shows to where the program is connecting.

Doesn't work at all, you can only change the last part of an adress, so you'll have http://encyclopedia.url/en/edited_table_link and the blue thing can only be edited.

nice man, mitch, you are the light in the darkness, the butter on my bread and the last samurai! CA might notice our need for a moddable encyclopedia if we are loud enough, hopefully, maybe next time they do a modding day

I tried editing the encyclopedia in the db files (in the game folder) a long time ago, but not since they changed the way it works.
