My last turn was among the longest I've had if not the longest, it took me just short of 4 I think.
Though I did have an overall idea as to what to do^^ Good luck with yer turn and may it be... not so much longer.

you can play in 30 minutes or 12 hours it depend how well you want the turn to be .

in BFE(i was with BYzantines)i played a turn in 30 min , when i was about to hit the end turn i saw that i can take another settlement , then i played again and at end i saw that i can take Jerusalem with a general from near Iconium (themz know what i m talking about ) . and like that i played a turn in almost all day. so it depends .

i wonder how IRONMEN hs it will be . i guess will be a nightmare .

IMO if a player goes beyond 36 hours without asking for an extension, or 72 hours with asking an extension with a justified excuse, and does not appoint a sub, we should start imposing a military fine in which he gets 8 units disbanded randomly from all armies.

I completely disagree with this. It gonna kill all the fun of the game, factions shouldn't be punished in the way like this.
Also 24 hours in my opinion is very restricted time for Stainless Steel hotseat. + Here we have fought battles against the AI. So it's just impossible to get the turn done in this little period of time. I guess we should increase it.

If I got shot and was away for some time, my faction would have 0 troops when I got back if we did that Avoid butchering the faction in case the absent/slow player needs to be replaced.

Extensions should have valid reasons and not be constantly used, if someone knows they will be away they need to have a subber. Diplomacy, extreme reloading or extremely long turns are poor excuses for extensions if excuses at all. But if people ask extension and keeps us posted, some waiting is not the end of the world and we'll notice if someone keeps doing it without reason.

Well, in my opinion, playing the turn not properly kills the fun more than playing it 4+ hours (or 8 hours, like I've just played my Aragon turn).
People should have the best what they can get from their turn. Hotseat is a competition of strategic minds, and players need to have time to think about their strategy.

Our great kingdom continues to expand and to build good relations with neighbours. One of our regions was given to Italian republic, and in return we got some gold. Nap for 12 turns was signed with Italy, and defensive alliance has been signed with Byzantine. This as a rather long because I had to take 6 settlements and defeat many armies this turn.
