    Default Unrest issues

    Hello, everybody

So I started playing EB II just yesterday and started a campaign as Rome. The problem is that every town that I conquered has very low public order and is really hard to get it up... After building the two levels of government my public order raise around 70% but that's about it I can't raise it any further... How can I deal with this?

    Thanks in advance.

Round up the resistance leaders, dismember them, and then place their bits and pieces on sharpened stakes throughout your empire. Should deal with your dissent issues overnight.

No but seriously though, your problem is likely a culture-related issue. It takes a while to "convert" recently captured settlements to your faction's culture, which can be done by destroying all the "foreign" buildings in the settlement and replacing them with your own. After that, the only thing you can really do is wait. When your faction's culture finally becomes the "majority" culture of the settlement, you should see the unrest levels come down. In the meantime, just garrison the settlement with a bunch of cheap troops to ward off riots.

Edit: here is a post from one of the devs on the issue:

And when I say, "be prepared", that does not mean "suck it up pansies", but rather to plan ahead based on this reality. If the new province has a huge difference between your religion and theirs, don't fight it. Build the Allied Government. Recruit the Allied troops. AND. Build as many happiness improvements as possible. When you have a goodly number of those AND the province is no longer on the frontier of your empire, well, now is good time to convert. Demolish the Allied Gov, get one of yours in place, and start converting.

Edit: There have been a lot of complaints about the advisor, but he's giving you REALLY important information. Telling you to go build a colony. Which he won't, unless you can. That's really important information, if you are interested in religious conversions. Which you should be.

TheVerySpecialK already said all the important stuff, so I'll just quickly throw in infos you might well already know...

Effects of general's attributes (taken from vanilla M2TW). How and if they apply to EBII at all, I don't know, though I assume these effects are hardcoded and/or (mostly) unchanged by EBII:

    Command:
    + morale bonus in battle
    + strong effect for auto-resolve*
    Confidence (Chivalry):
    + morale bonus in battle*
    + public order bonus*
    + pop-growth bonus*
    Loyalty:
    + less likely to rebel
    Influence (Piety):
    + public order bonus*
    + income bonus*
+ reduces cultural/religious unrest in settlements with (high) factional culture*
+ increases cultural/religious unrest in settlements with (low) factional culture*

    * not certain, but likely afaik

I thought you only needed to destroy the buildings that converted the city to a different culture.
