    Default Building new computer

Hi. Couple of days ago, I asked you guys about VGA card. Since then, things have changed a little. There is a possibility, that I'm gonna buy brand new computer.
I need no monitor (still have a good one), got very good Creative sound system.
    We're talking about computer itself.
So, what a 1000$ can buy?

Are you going to build it or buy it prebuilt?

You should wait a week or so, since nVIDIA is about to release their 8 series DX10 card, by then the prices of graphics cards should go down a lot.

    I second the notion.

The guide at Sharky Extreme for building a system for $1000 is an excellent place to start. http://www.sharkyextreme.com/guides/...le.php/3633106

Let's start with what you're gonna recycle from your old computer. If you are willing to recycle stuff like sound speakers, hard drives, CD/DVD ROMS, maybe RAM if you're lucky, and your monitor, you open up fund for greater upgrades.

If you're gonna buy everything from scratch, expect about 2/5ths of your funds to be diverted to speakers, hard drives, and monitors.

    1. I'm gonna buy the parts and build it by myself. I did it once, so I don't see any reason, why I shouldn't do it again
    2. I can wait a week, deninitely. But the question is, is it a big deal?
I can post, what thay have at the store, and if you guys could tell me what from that list should I buy, I'd be very gratefull.

If you can trim your budget by $20-30 just by waiting a week, it's worth it, especially since those dollars add up real fast.

Again, what are you willing to recycle from your old computer?

As I posted before, I don't need monitor or speakers. The only thing I'm gonna buy, except computer, is DVD-ROM/Writer.
I need CPU, Motherboard, RAM, VGA card, HD and, probably, new case, but that's not a big deal at all. Still have 2*512 Mb RAM.

Alright, here's a list of what you need according to your statements:

    CPU:
    Motherboard:
    RAM:
    Graphics Card:
    Hard Drive:
    Case:

Now, what are your exact system specifications so we can know if you can recycle the RAM, or if you have to buy new ones.

Your processor prices seem to high, where are the prices coming from? My AMD 4200 X2 cost $189 USD.
