Can't Fully Uninstall or Reinstall Game

Hi I wasn't able to fully uninstall the game. There was no uninstall option in the program files or in the control panel add/remove software section. So I deleted all the M2TW files from the program files. Now when I insert the disk it only gives me the option to install the Gold add ons but not the original game. I wanted to uninstall the whole game because the battles were CTDing in the main campaign.

How can I remove all traces of the game from my computer so that I can do a clean reinstall?

Did you delete both Medieval II Total War folders?
If so, run something like Ccleaner to remove the registry entries.

I did delete both folders. Thanks I've not heard of Ccleaner before I'll try it later.

Unfortunately when I try to run CCleaner I get this error message. Any other ideas? Thank you
