I was wondering how hard it is to add walls to faction capitals that aren't provincial capitals on the grand campaign map? please ignore this if the amount of work needed is huge. I would still appreciate any info on how to add walls if possible.

It is pretty difficult. You need the correct coordinates for the city which can be pretty hard to get and then edit the startpos files with a special program. As far as I know. It is doable but difficult

I am trying to add walls, but simply adding a wall array to a settlement is not enough, I was able to remove walls like mitch has shown us. We will continue to work on it.

I honestly don't expect modders to shift through random numbers in code just to find the codes for wallsthat isn't just too much work, that is kinda insane. on the same level of insanity as the campaign map modding where every tree needs it's own coordinates. I wonder why ca is actively hiding the codes though, it isn't like adding walls to minor settlements can ruin the dlc sales.

I think in part it reflects CA's new policy, they are now becoming the new "modders" via DLC trying to milk $ off that via the fiat steam network. It makes monetary sense for them I suppose; if you are a giant leach like industry.Much of CA's DLC is of sub standard quality and actually borrows from content already released in the game at launch.
Their new fan base does not know the difference between this game and the games of old. They go crazy over some feature present 10 years ago. All this reminds of EA's college football series when it went next gen; they stripped all the features out, then slowly added them back in over a few years piecemeal. Could you imagine an actual worthwhile DLC like upgradable -besides that in game rose garden terrace- permanent forts, Or a real politics system? When the emperor edition was released, I hardly noticed anything except a new graph and- Whoopie, new faction icons!
I am wondering what the point of the modding summit was exactly? I remember quite candidly a DEV saying this was the most moddable TW game ever, that was and is certified nonsense, at least at this point. I bet they don't release any modding tools. I would pay 40$ for modding tools for the map and AI in battles!
Just got the new Talewords DLC "Viking Conquest" not the greatest release ever, but this is not fluff DLC, it actually has some some heart to it. Also an entirely different feel to the DEVs responses in that forum I must say. None of this Wizard of Oz jargon. I don't know why the executives at SEGA think that they have make things dumb and I phone app like in order to sell it?
Here is my favorite Rome 2 bug:
--build a fort by a river, get fort deployables without the fort but with the river!

Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.
Villages dont even necessarily need to have the same walls as faction capitals; just some kind of physical barrier to prevent getting bum-rushed right after taking a village - something to increase their holdout time rather than an immediate assault. I'd be just as content as with some wooden palisades or walls as with full stone walls.
Perhaps implementing a village hold out time, so attackers have to wait atleast a turn before being able to assault a village?
Absolutely correct. By my (credited) archaeological knowledge, all settlements big enough to be classified as villages in my field territory were fortified. Even the smallest village got some all-around wooden palisades and a few watch towers.....Here CA done a huge mistake.....
