M2TW Gold - DVD 2

I bought the M2TW Gold and for some reason my computer won't let me install the DVD 2. Any thoughts?

Disable the UAC?
Run setup.exe on the disc instead of autorun?
Have enough free disc space?

I did all 3. Same as before, I click, it flashes and then - nothing.

Can you read its contents in Computer?
Have you tried cleaning the disc?

Yes to both. I have an idea. If it works I'll share it. Got to delete and start over again.

Well, nothing seems to work; I put in the disc (DVD) 1 and it installed but failed to allow me to put in disc 2. I attempted to install disc 2 on it's own, but the setup doesn't activate. Is it possible to manually insert the files from disc 2 into the installed M2TW?

One of the old workarounds was copy the disc to your desktop and run it from there.

Well, I did that, but it didn't work. I copied the discs 1 and disc 2 in separate folders and installed disc 1. I still can't install disc 2. is there something else I should do. Have wasted my money? Sorry. I'm really frustrated.

You may have unfortunately. I have no other tricks to try.

I believe I have a remedy. I went into disc 2 and installed all of the factory mods; Crusades, etc and they were playable. I opened the file and discovery that a "Kingdomes.exe" had been created in the file. I've installed several mods, including Stainless Steal and they work. I have not installed the 1.5 patch because refuses to let me. But everything seems to be working fine - "knock on wood."

1.5 patch, try a different patch.

Do I even need the patch at this point? I'm only playing modifications.

Some mods use the fixes in the patch. If you can make it work without the patch at this point, I think I would.
