    ModDB
    download link: https://www.moddb.com/mods/napoleons-eagles/downloads/napoleons-eagles-901

The battle map will appear showing disposition of forces for the scenario and Battle Time allowed.
Colored boxes are forces that enter the battle with the time delay (82') shown before they can be moved.

Select ~Total War Online ~Battle List ~Join Battle or Host Battle and select Scenario

Choose your Scenario from the menu on the left hand side and setup your Historical Battle for the other players to join.

The Army Setup screen will allow the other players to join. The Army's are pre-selected so there are no units to choose.
Use the envelop button in the lower right to invite your friends to join & click the check button to launch the battle.

You are now on the battlefield in command of the army and units that you have selected.
The unit bar my have limited space so its best to issue commands to your units directly on the battlefield map.

Default NTW III Historical Battle guide for players

    Hi developers,
first of all, thank you so much for this amazing mod!

I recently looked into your historical battles and unfortunately have been unable to figure out how to set those up (both, MP and SP) and also to understand what the rules for those are/ how they are supposed to work. I searched the forum for this, but was unable to find anything related to that topic. So If anyone could give me a quick rundown of the 'how-to' etc., it would be nice.

My second question is, are you still working on HB or is this basically finished? The first battle I was searching for was the battle of Leipzig (aka Battle of Nations) and it seemed like it is missing. I mean, you guys added a lot of awesome battles in there already, but I kinda felt like this battle, being the biggest (european) battle prior to WWI, the first major defeat of Napoleon himself and also the turning point of Napoleons reign over Europe, should certainly be included there. Or didn't you add it because of the sheer scale of the battle?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Tyr,
you got the point...scale of large battles like Leipzig or Dresden, Borodino, Bautzen are not compatible with the regimental/battalion size of HB. You can of course increase scale to 1:15 or more but it simply looses sense from a tactical point of view.

After two years I've been started again working on a new battle SAGUNTO and maybe RAAB after that, I plan to do a standalone installer/launcher for HB to better suits our needings of exclusive players. To play them you need to contact other HB followers, consider looking on Lordz forum in the HB section. We've been actively playing HBs for many years with some house rules to increase realism or to overtake some NTW limitations. We plan to start playing again after the release of Sagunto so maybe you want to pop up later, HB are meant to be played only MP, in single there 's little point to face the silly AI

    Hi,
ok, so my assumption was correct unfortunately. Maybe you could scale those battles down by only focussing on certain areas of the battlefield or certain troops/corps, instead of the entire thing? Just an idea.

I surely will keep my eyes peeled for updates on HB's. And thanks for the advice in general, I somehow forgot to look into the official Lordz forum for this - stupid me. I will do it now though.

It's been debated sometimes, it could work but since my time is now limited I prefer to do unique engagement rather than splitting a huge battle in three scenarios since we have no mean to link them in any way.
The biggest doable battle could be Ligny but unfortunately I've lost the OOB I made years ago and so I have now little motivation to recompile it again, not to mention the nightmare to make bridges working on the map.

Battle of Saguntum was fought on 25 October 1811. I started to do some research for this - https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/nwar...1811-t523.html

Tyr, this is a basic rundown of the HB rules. https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/ntwh...sation-t8.html

This is an entire conversation regarding those rules and various interpretations. https://www.thelordz.org/forum/viewt...?f=157&t=13355

The Lordz site is where you will find most HB players more than willing to answer any question you have{all 6 of us! }. https://www.thelordz.org/forum/index...130fd8df6ce8b6

Beware, you may not like the answer. Basically it's like this, it's about respect for the other players and the limiting ability of the Napoleon Total War engine.

HB play is NOT classic NTW3 play, they are two different animals.

    Good luck.

Hi ztrain, thanks a lot for your answer.

My post was moved here from another thread though. I ask this back in October and Desaix had been kind enough to answer it. So I discovered the Lordz forum since. Unfortunately I moved house a couple of month ago and it's a pain to get high speed internet working here. So I am still stuck with the single player versions atm, which is not perfect but alright.

Version 8.0 is a standalone installer, you don't need NTW3 or any of its optional modules. A new desktop icon for Napoleon's Eagles 8.0 is created with blue N instead of gold. I suggest to remove any files of the previous versions of HB. If you install NTW3 8.0 be sure to have the patch 8.1 installed as well
