Well, i played dei from 0.75-0.8 and i really liked it, and i was saving myself for DeI 1.0.....But rome 2 isnt the same without DeI, besides, i have heard that there are some pretty big balancing issues in 0.95, is it worth it playing DeI now?

It absolutely is!
Many things have changed since 0.8 (can't even name them all). Now its 0.96f, I do not think there are really big balancing issues and since 1.0 might still be some time away I definitely say "Yes", it is absolutely worth it!
Must agree with Hoplitus. Even though version 1.0 brings with it a ton of improvements to the mod and game .096f is worth a try. Also if it has been awhile since you played the mod you will perhaps need to get a hang of the changes done to the mod so the transition to version 1.0 will be smaller.
There is still some time till the release of version 1.0 and with the holidays coming up working on the mod will slow down.
So give it a go, check out all the cool previews for 1.0 and look forward to this late christmas present.![]()
Playing DeI is worth any time in whatever state of development
When a new version is released I just start a new game to enjoy the added flavour of the "unknown" !
( subluminal message : play DeI ; play DeI ...)
:p

its not long til 1.0, my opinion: wait for 1.0, makes it only better.
Nobody knows when 1.0 gets released, until then, have fun with 0.96![]()
Although DeI v0.96f greatly improves the R2 experience in so many ways, there have been many discussions about being able to abuse the hammer and anvil tactic to annihilate AI armies.
Apparently the battle mechanics for v1.0 will make this tactic less favourable for the player. This is why I haven't played R2 since the summer!!
Honest I've been saving the most interesting campaigns for 1.0 which has been agonizing so the anticipation is immense! However, it's given me a chance to play some factions I wouldn't normally play as. Can't wait to play the main Roman campaign, HatG roman and Carthaginian and roman campaign, cig roman campaign, and wos campaigns! The second DeI 1.0 comes out I might not see daylight for about 2 weeks.
I have an add-on to this question
Is it worth starting a campaign right now 12/15/14 or will there be an 0.96g/0.97 patch coming out tomorrow that will not be backward compatible?
I would like to ask, if it will be possible to play version 1.0 and continuing my current campaign? I would not mind if the newest features wont be incorporated in my campaign, I just wanna conquer the world with actual Arverni faction..This campaign has been the best total war experience so farCurrently I have version 0.96f and the game stopped to load after todays Wrath of Sparta release..
I've been playing Empire Edition while waiting for 1.0 to start a Roman GC of Epic Proportions!
"Good Men Don't Need Rules."
I'm waiting for 1.0 myself. Unit balance sort of killed it for me, not that I was thinking things were "unbalanced" and raging at particular units or anything, it just didn't feel like there was much difference it all in units across cultures, types, and qualities.
Was just throw together whatever army and go.
If your talking about starting a new campaign I'd be waiting until after the Spartan DLC is released, the mod in it's current state could need updating.
And Dresden is a busy man. Let's hope he finds a window in time to patch these things up. He's on American timezone, so I'd suggest to everyone to take another look tomorrow here on the forums.
By the way, what is generally changing with Patches? Do you know which kinds of things need to get done to adapt to a new patch?
