    Default New to the mod: Some questions

    1) None of the units have the oversized floating banner that you see when you zoom the camera out, it's extremely hard to keep track of the units. Is it supposed to be that way?

    2) I don't see any switch to melee button option for archers and javelin units

    3) The spying success rate percentage in this mod really off. My spies is level 6 and has 90% chance of infiltrating a castle or town, but he fails and he dies. Happened to probably 4-5 of my spies already.

    4) I played as Rhun and Silvan elves allied with me when I approached them for the first time with a diplomat, no questions asked. And then the dwarfs and the orcs of Misty Mountain declared truce, Silvan elves and Mordor signed truce.........it just seems off. I'm not a huge Tolkien fan but shouldn't dwarfs and orcs be in perceptual war?

    1) yes.

    2) I dont think there was any "change to melee" button even in the original medieval 2. select your unit, hold "alt" key and point in the enemy, you will see the melee mode is enabled, click to attack.

    3) Dont know if the mod chnages this, TATW is meant to be hard anyway.

    4) Perpetual war would mean repetitive campaigns with not that much options and dynamics. But hey, as far as I know those alliences are wuite hard to happen, there is a really low % chance of it happening.

    Found the CFG file, but it only has two lines.

    [video]
    widescreen=1
    [game]
    allusers=1

    No banners

    Are you saying that in your medieval2.preference.CFG file you only have these lines? There are no other lines?
    American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
    Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
    If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
    Let Syria be finally in peace.

    A video of false chemical attack in Douma, Syria, which led to Western illegal attacks.

    In the TATW.CFG under [video] manually add the line

    show_banners = 1

    If that doesnt work add the line to
    medieval2.preference in med2 main directory

    I found the show_banners line in TATW.CFG file, chnaged it to 1, but when I tried saving it and replace the old file it says

    Cannot create blah blah,

    Make sure that the path and file name are correct.

    I got around it by copying the CFG file, edit that, save it then delete the old one and move the edited CFG file into the folder. Added the banner line to both the preference CFG file in the main Medieval 2 and the TATW folder, still don't work :S

    Try editing the cfg in the main medieval 2 directory and see if it has it on, looks like this:

    medieval2.preference.CFG

    in that file:

    [video]
    anisotropic_level = 4
    anti_alias_mode = off
    antialiasing = 0
    assassination_movies = 0
    autodetect = 0
    battle_resolution = 1024 768
    bloom = 0
    building_detail = low
    campaign_resolution = 1024 768
    depth_shadows = 1
    depth_shadows_resolution = 2
    effect_quality = low
    event_movies = 1
    gamma = 140
    grass_distance = 500
    ground_buffers_per_node = 4
    ground_cover_buffers_per_node = 4
    infiltration_movies = 0
    model_buffers_per_node = 4
    no_background_fmv = 1
    reflection = 0
    sabotage_movies = 0
    shader = 2
    show_banners = 1
    show_package_litter = 0
    skip_mip_levels = 1
    splashes = 1
    sprite_buffers_per_node = 4
    stencil_shadows = 0
    subtitles = 0
    terrain_quality = custom
    texture_filtering = 2
    unit_detail = high
    vegetation = 1
    vegetation_quality = normal
    vsync = 1
    water_buffers_per_node = 4
    widescreen = 0

    without the bold

    when you edited the one in the TATW folder did u set it to read only?

    Sounds like a Virtual Store issue. See if there is another config file in the virtual store located at: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Sega\Medieval2 Total War
